November 18, 201510 yr So the second place team lost to Toledo and your still spewing that? Ok. It's Bama then just a few good teams it's been that way for a while now. Recruiting straight up has really affected the conference.

November 18, 201510 yr It's Bama then just a few good teams it's been that way for a while now. Recruiting straight up has really affected the conference. Amen. It's usually Bama and 1 other team who can play with anyone. Everyone else is has just been average football teams.
November 18, 201510 yr Yea. And I didn't even mention Ole Miss getting shelled by Memphis. Baffles me that they keep trying to convince us. I'm far from a Bama fan . I despise them but they have more top 25 wins than anyone else don't they ? You keep saying they have no wins ? They have the highest ranked SOS If we are playing your game what is Ohio st signature win to this point ? Penn St ?
November 18, 201510 yr The four best right now is Oklahoma at number 1? A team who lost to a bad Texas team. Then beat a Baylor who was playing against their first good team and with a freshman qb making his second start ever. Oklahoma has more games to prove it though. This was a nice win though. Ohio state hasn't played anyone all year and really only looked good one game this year. Also didn't look very good at all in the win this week. So just curious to see you rank them as the best two right now. I like how Oklahoma looks but it's so unreal how inconsistent some of these posters are. Oklahoma has won good win over Baylor who was playing their backup freshman qb and who also hasn't played anybody. They lose to a bad Texas team and should of loss to an average at best Tennessee team. I can't believe you guys make me defend Bama I feel dirty. But you do realize one of the wins people keep touting for Iowa is the 9-6 win over Wisconsin. The same Wisconsin Bama beat 35-17 .

Bama has 2 wins over the current top 25, and 6 wins over the top 34 teams in the country according to the AP poll.
November 18, 201510 yr Again, you are putting way too much credence on in conference schedules. SEC teams play cup cake city out of conference, and rarely travel north of MD line. Even when Bama plays someone OOC is neutral, never on the road. When we are trying to determine the 4 best teams why would we look at anything other than the totality of the schedule? Why would we pick one segment? OSU's FBS W/L will get better with the next 3(presumably) games. To look at only one segment of the picture seems like a red herring.

The main argument that keeps getting posted against Bama is a signature win. The committee isn't looking at one game , they are looking at the body of work. Comparing the body of work between Bama and Oklahoma as of today , Bama is the obvious choice.
November 18, 201510 yr Too lazy to do the research so... How much influence does the committee have ? Does their poll count more than whatever other polls are being used? Are there intangibles taken into consideration that the committee could use to influence this?

Are there intangibles taken into consideration that the committee could use to influence this? The committee is the only thing that matters. As an ND fan I agree at time SEC teams get a pass others don't and sometimes I feel the hype is to much. But now Ohio state fans have gone the exact opposite side of spectrum and act like the SEC is pee wee football. They have become what they hate about SEC fans.

I have said all along Bama belongs. I still, though, don't buy them at 2. Who is their win? LSU has been a paper tiger all year. Beating up on patsies. Miss St? Not really. Arkansas? Toledo says hello. I know SEC guy has a very hard time accepting the SEC down, but it is. Bama is really good. Everyone else is just OK. And Bama has a loss to a 3 loss team that has no business being in the Top 25. No other team in any conference could get blown out (Florida), blown out by a group of 5 (Memphis) and lose another game and still be ranked like Ole Miss. Oh, and jump into the top 25 after a bye week and in your last game gave up a gazillion points in a loss. That is really not be debatable

You just listed two of their losses and both are ranked teams. They way you guys rip teams apart you have to have alternatives. Wisconsin is ranked and anyone who has seen them play knows they aren't a top 25 team. If you think Bama is in who cares where they put them? The games are played on neutral field whether Ohio state is 2 or Bama they are still playing each other.
November 19, 201510 yr Mark it down. One of these is going to happen, Clemson will lose to UNC or Bama will lose to Florida.

November 20, 201510 yr Do you have to have a signature win to be in the top 4? No. But a bad loss should keep you out until you do.
