Shooting, explosions in Paris kill 100+, hostages taken

Featured Replies

One of the attackers entered Paris as a refugee about 6 weeks ago. Tell me again why we should bring 10,000 refugees to the US?

Because these people are trying to escape the same terrorists that are committing atrocities. Terrorists score a victory when they make us more like them, i.e., making us refuse to help those in need.

From a friend's Facebook page:

My heart is heavy for the people of Paris. France is America's oldest ally, our committed friend since the war for independence. In the aftermath of horrific acts of terror, I think it's important to remember the humanity we all share. Reading the outpouring of grief and support from Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, atheists, etc. reminds me that hatred knows no religion. To those who lay blame on refugees from Syria, this is exactly the kind of violence thousands of families are fleeing; attacks like this occur nonstop there and we remain essentially indifferent. It appears that ISIS committed the attack, in retaliation to Western military assaults on their forces. As our planes and special forces continue to combat ISIS, I hope that at home, we can be smart, be safe, and most of all, refuse to lower ourselves to the disunity and fear that the terrorists want so desperately to incite. ‪#‎JeSuisParis‬ ‪#‎PrayingforParis‬

How do we screen them to make sure they aren't terrorist like the attacker in Paris?

How do we even know if they are vaccinated, when you join the military you get about 15 shots.

How do we pay for them? They sign up for free tax payer benefits?

We have homeless Vets on the streets.

What are we doing to help those homeless Vets on the street?

I don't have perfect answers to all of those questions. I do know that, as both a Christian and a moral person, I believe that we should help those in need.

Maybe we can screen them in the same method that we do other legal immigrants?

If they aren't vaccinated or can provide proof of vaccination, I suppose we can vaccinate them.

I would guess that many of them have skills that they can use to help support themselves, just like many other immigrants.

I won't forget what happened to this little boy:

We should! BUT I may add that we strict guidelines, I wouldn't be apposed to a polygraph test to enter, not only for refugees, but for all people. I would randomly select people at airports and do this as well.

But the sad reality is, we can't stop people from coming in, borders are too big. France closing their borders last night did not stop people to go in or out of they really wanted to.

I'm ok with this to, but they can only come if they live on your street.

They keep saying we need moderate Muslims to stand up to the crazy Muslims.

The only moderate Muslims I can see are the Kurds. The Sunni and Shia hate the Kurds so I'm not sure how to get them involved in a long term security plan.

Short of placing a dictator in Iraq and Syria im not sure any of the Sunni or Shia population can ever live under a democratic rule. These religious groups are hell bent on killing each other. Hard to help those that don't want your help.

"They"? Sad,

If any of the Muslims follow the Koran to a tee, this is the result. The rest ignore what it says or are to weak in that faith to follow it. #truth

UPDATE: U.S. intelligence official tells CBS News Syrian passport recovered in #Paris attacks might be fake Paris attacks carried out by three teams of extremists, France prosecutor says - CBS News

That's the thing, as I said in one of my posts above ISIS wants us to start harassing and attacking innocent Muslims, so that they will then decide to be radicalized.

The sad reality is, if this is done properly, we will have lose of life, we need boots on the ground, a lot of correct planning and a lot of prayers.
