At the start of the year Shelby only returned one starter offensively and he only saw 3 games in the previous year. For a line with 4 seniors on it that's no experience this year the Rockets have truly pulled it together this year offensively.

And Collins folks continue to bring up Rosebury like he wasnt in the game but he started the game abd was knocked out by Manica and didnt return to action!

Some of those guys on the O and D line saw action during the State Champ game and started all of last year. That is experience that is not playing IMO up to its potential. They better Friday or will get there heads knocked off again. Also Rosebury missed more than just the SC game. He is very talented and makes a difference. However, he wouldn't have mattered in that game 3 weeks ago.

Rosebury played in the SC game! He was knocked out! It's not like they didn't have him he started and decided he didn't want anymore! That would validate your youth argument!

Not 44-0 but should be a two touchdown game I think. Collins QB play has been atrocious all year and there is never going to be a opportunity for the backup QB. Collins gets back Stucker and Eads at LB as well as Sam Harrod but the problem is Collins offensive line against the quick Shelby County defense. Two good kickers in this one but Shelby usually has an opportunity to return one every game. There won't be a surprise in this one. Shelby County 28 Collins 17

I would hope the SC players are not thinking this way. If they are just because they won 44-0 then SC is in trouble. If Collins gets mad about losing 44-0 then they should compete if they don't think they can because of that score, then it might get worse.

Everyone has asked what the difference in this year's team. Desire to be the best is the difference this group at Shelby doesn't care if they won 44-0 the first time they want to beat Collins 100-0 this time. The kids are hungry and tired of the little brother mentality that was given to them when they built the other school across town with fresh turf and new facilities but forgot the school that existed before the thought of Collins! These kids are prepared to take the respect that they deserve. No one thought they'd be 10-1 right now they went 3-8 last year and we're predicted last in the district preseason. So no they don't think it's going to be handed to them they want it more than any other team!

Offensive line has been a huge disappointment from Collins. They have plenty of experience, but it seems like the heart and passion that Collins teams have played with in the past is missing. On the flip side, that is what makes Shelby better than their talent level and past couple of seasons would suggest. They just seem to care more and want it more and have pushed themselves to get a whole lot better. Like you said, Roseberry and the rest of the gang just quit the first time around. Hopefully they won't embarrass themselves again.

 

People keep bringing up youth, and yes, that is somewhat of a factor for Collins. But the biggest problem seems to be a lack of pride and passion for this team. Whenever a team just quits, that is a major red flag.

I hope that didn't come across as critical of the coaching staff. They are just two years removed from a State Title for crying out loud! I was just hoping someone could help me understand. I'm sure Lucas is doing what is best for the team and he knows way more about football than I do. However, saying that Shelby will win is just being realistic. Collins still has a ways to go in their rebuilding and just hasn't been very good at times. I don't think that is crazy to say, I'm just being a realist.

Aww game day. Good thing it isn't going to be in 60's tonight or you wouldn't be able to get around schs. Colder temps will keep crowd down some. Counting down the hours till a heck of a football game. No prediction from me.
