With all the transgender athletics, dont be shocked to see an all boys school win a few girl sports titles.

 

Im sure Cov Cath has some big boys that could win girl volleyball games.

As part of a fundraiser I think it is, CCH Boys play NDA girls in a volleyball match each year. I think the girls have run every year that they have done this.

 

Correct, with MINIMAL effort the girls have found a way to win every year. Great event though. Most of both schools attend dressed as the other sex, and the money raised is given to a cold shelter in Covington (as far as I know).

Random question. This seems like a good enough place to do it. Why is field hockey a KHSAA sanctioned sprort? Do even 20 schools offer this sport? Lacrosse has over 30 schools and is not KHSAA sanctioned. Does this have to do with the KHSAA needing to offer the same amount of boys state championships as girls? Not trying to rip on field hockey or promote lacrosse just simply asking and wondering.

 

Lacrosse does NOT want to be sanctioned by KHSAA at this time.

Several reasons:

- Limit on matches you can play

- No Co-op teams (for example, North Hardin's team has Fort Knox and John Hardin kids on it)

- Lacrosse makes its own playoffs (and doesn't have to worry about the KHSAA saying who will play who, when they say, where they say)

 

Heard maybe in five years, but all three lacrosse coaches in Hardin County said they would vote NO to KHSAA if asked (right now).

Probably about as many as played girls' beer-league softball in the final years before the KHSAA mercifully put that old nag out of its misery, much to the chagrin of NoKy folks, who made a big stink out of that one.

 

Schue, this reminds me of the quote by Stan Steidel back when this debate was going on. He said girls fast pitch softball "was a pitcher, catcher and seven girls getting a sun tan". Always that was a hilarious comment even though I don't quite agree with it.
