No Xavier Abernathy for Holy Cross (out with an ACL tear), this does not help the Indians chances. With him I think it would be a much closer game, gotta go with the Breds in this one.

Dang that is a big loss hope recovers prayers to him.

NCC by multile tds. Harris i.s gonna have a huge game.

Even with the unfortunate loss of Abernathy, Barnes is a beast and with Scott at the helm, I'll take the more disciplined team HC by 3.

I think this one will be a battle... I take NCC 21-20 Good luck to both teams!

One of the best ball player I have seen this year.

When NCC played Beechwood I'm sure it was fun watching Smith and Slusher go back and forth. wish I could've been there. Would've been fun to see 2 of NKY's best athletes goin at it all night.

NCC controls the game. 31-14

I believe it was near the end of the first quarter or early second quarter with Beechwood winning 14-0 and in complete control. NCC hands the ball off to Smith over left tackle. It looks like Beechwood has the play perfectly defended. Somehow Smith makes a quick cut or two emerges from the pack at the line and then smokes everyone for a 60 yard touchdown. On Beechwood's next offensive play, Fieger hits Slusher on a quick out along the sideline. Slusher pancakes the defender guarding him and then smokes the rest of NCC's defensive backfield for an 80 yard touchdown. Regardless of which team you were rooting for, those two plays were just outstanding especially back to back like that.

Not sure if NCC is a better team I will say this the QB for NCC is a good ball player, he is more of a threat than the always talked about smith, HC's Barnes is nice and will run anyone over in his way. To me why hasn't NCC moved up a division if they are the best I mean let's face it they go to state but get punished badly HC 26-NCC 20

Henchen is a good player but wouldn't say he's a bigger threat than Smith. Henchen holds onto the ball way too long, I mean his o-line can only hold their blocks so long. And why should NCC move up a division. That makes no since at all, especially when according to you the get punished badly at state? Which by the way isn't they case, winning state 2 times since 2010 & state runner up in 2013 & 2014. BTW NCC is and has been the best in the east for quite some time. To be the best, you have to beat the best & no one has done that in the east since 2011.

At the next realignment I'd be willing to wager NewCath drops to 1A and Beechwood moves up to 2A.

Interesting. I never thought about NCC dropping. There is a good chance Beechwood moves up because they are now the largest school in 1A. NCC's enrollment numbers are going to have to drop by a pretty good amount for them to go down to 1A. There are several schools smaller than them in 2A that they will have to drop below to move down before them. Is NCC's enrollment dropping that much?

No, but those below them are catching up. I think they are the 4th smallest 2A school.

Holy Cross has the better staff and is more talented this year. I think they win this game.

Imo ncc program is headed down a steep cliff. I haven't seen as many Ncc games as normal this year though. Others who have seen the upcoming players may feel different, but that's what I foresee happening.

Better staff and how is that?

As for you being at games not sure you go to any of NCC games.

You will do anything to take a stabbed at NCC you always have and never give them credit.

Don't hear much from you about Highlands this year now do we.

Actually, Beechwood's enrollment is about 50 students higher than NCC. NCC has higher male enrollment while Beechwood has higher female enrollment. I understand that Beechwood has a higher male enrollment currently in the middle school.

NCC, Newport and Holy Cross are all within 10 male students of each other on the last enrollment stats. If Beechwood would move up, it would likely be one of these three schools moving down to 1A.
