Any of those games shock you?

 

Lincoln over Harlan was pretty surprising to me. Also surprised the way Casey beat breathitt.

Cooper finished third in their district when they lost to BG in the state game.

Trinity finished third in their district last year and won the 6A title and I still don't think 4 from each district should qualify.

This whole debate every year amazes me. I just don't understand what the problem is with letting as many teams as possible into the playoffs. I don't understand why people say football is different than the other sports. I have read this for as many years as I have been on this site and I still don't understand it at all.

I've been part of (not a fan of, actually on the field and part of) teams that have had no win seasons. Call me a loser if you want but I was glad the season ended without another lopsided loss. The nature of football makes it unlike any other sport. The season is to long as it is and the physical toll it takes is high. And I still believe that nothing positive occurs for either team in those games.

Doesn't matter what playoff system we have, there will be people who don't like it. Too many classes, not enough classes, too many teams qualify, not enough qualify. Some teams don't want to be there, some that do don't get the chance...

 

I like having at least the top 3 in a district get in so that if a good team has a key injury for a district game and they lose that game, they can still get in the playoffs regardless of a tiebreaker.

5 classes with 4 from each district getting in would stop winless teams from getting in. It would be better for ky overall and better for the bottom feeders to end with some mercy.

Okay here's an idea. Allow number four seed teams to opt out of the playoffs. Make them pay a cash penalty for dropping out. They don't have to suffer an embarrassing loss and their players can stay home or watch everyone else if they want to.
