Texas Tech player ejected for targeting

Featured Replies

Texas Tech Player (#7) (Don't know his name) was ejected from today's game with OK state after a targeting call was called.

After replay, I didn't see any angle where he led with his helmet. His face mask hit an offensive player's face mask/helmet and the ref's called him for targeting.

That's a heads up clean tackle. What do you want the player to do? That's a shame.

It will get over turned, the suspension that is.

I have not seen the play in question yet, but have seen that rule unjustly applied several times already.

No coach worth a grain of salt ever has taught a player to tackle with his head down-

College targeting rule = NFL catch rule

Crapshoot

ND safety called for it tonight. His was a penalty, but I wouldn't have called it targeting.

Tenn player called and ejected and he led with his shoulder pad and hit UK receiver in the chest. Terrible call.
