Waggener's Devon Cooper (2017) Transfers to Findlay Prep (Nevada)

Featured Replies

Lot of transfers happening in all sports at Waggener.

Findlay Prep is a top basketball prep school in Nevada. Usually ranked in the top 5 of the country for high school basketball.

That'll leave a mark.

Good for him. That is a top notch prep school right there. I hate to see any KY kid leave the nest like this but this is a top notch school. I can't blame him for leaving at all. Good luck, Devon!!!!!

It is a great move.. The kid can grow by playing everyday with top notch talent and get good coaching (of which he really wasn't getting at waggner). Plus it gives the kid the same trajectory as 2 other Louisville kids before him..

Really liked Devon when I saw him over the summer...elite level athlete and nice all around game. Interested to see how he progresses out west. I'll be in Vegas Nov 17-21st for work. Might try to get to a game while I'm out there.

Just noticed former Scott Co/Georgetown product Rodney Haddix is a coach out there. I assume that played a part in the move?

Wow. Wish nothing but the best for him. Certainly a blow to Waggener's chances of asserting itself in the 7th region.

Haddix actually played there a year.

Yup...I believe he played there the first year Findlay Prep opened?

Yeah that's a bummer for Waggener and for the Seventh, but definitely wish him good luck as he can really build his game at a place like that.

Haddix played there for a year when the KHSAA ruled him ineligible for his senior year at Scott County.
