October 27, 201510 yr Are there degrees? I think he calls himself a democratic Socialist. Sounds like an oxymoron to me. A Socialist by any other name is still a Socialist. Bernie wants the government to pay for everything, bring the rich down and build the poor up. In other, mediocrity for everyone.

October 27, 201510 yr I don't think Bernie is a socialist in the sense that everything is "owned" by society, but I think he wants all "basic goods" (healthcare, education, etc. - extremely subjective phrase) to be socially owned.

October 28, 201510 yr Bernie labels himself as a socialist. He wishes for the government to be the largest business in a nation and wants them to provide any service you can think of for free. He obviously never took an economic class, or ran a business of any sort, or had any interaction with the free market besides buying groceries and complaining that the government doesn't provide everyone with food stamps.

October 28, 201510 yr Bernie Sanders is a self proclaimed Democratic Socialist. Which by definition means a political system that is democratic and economy where the government owns the means of production. That isn't America and it's insanely terrifying that such a large amount of people support him. Say what you will about Trump ,Carson or anyone running on the right. No one has crazier or a more unAmerican platform than Bernie Sanders.
