I'd say read your own description of the PK. Both players going for the ball, away from the goal and not towards it and the center ref behind the play and not in the best place to call a foul. A/R was there and did not put the flag up. In a game with a lot of studs-up, hard tackles that were not called I just feel this call was not consistent with how the rest of the game was called regarding slide tackles. Tough call not to make for a ref in front of that home crowd. In the end, Day made the call irrelevant thankfully.

 

I agree with the inconsistency......if he calls the PK for mc, how can he not call the mugging of Wessel in the box from behind going to goal.....

The call I did have an issue with .....there were several. 33 seconds left in the game. MC kicks he ball towards the sideline and it is going out of bounds by the MC bench. Again CR trailing the play . CCH defender gets to the line and shields the MC player who runs into and over the back of the CCH defender. Ref calls kick for MC ....I guess to give them one more chance....

 

I'm guess this call has to deal with the defender not making a play on the ball, but rather the player. My daughter has gotten called on this multiple times the past couple years, and in each instance, the CR told her she had to play the ball, even though the ball was within her reach every time.

First time called was with 33 seconds left for the home team? THere were at least 8 other instances of this being done during the game by both teams.

I'm sure the premium fee was because the KH$AA has designated it a "State Tournament" game, even though it was played at a satellite site.

 

I wouldn't want to be Brossart AD Adam Franzen tonight at Tower Park in Fort Thomas, charging folks $10 to sit in the rain at a second tier venue for the Brossart-Notre Dame girls sectional game because of the dictates of the KH$AA.

Also of note, the 2014 Boys Sweet 16 cost KHSAA $378,019 to put on, and they took in gross revenues of $1,539,388. Very nice ROI for their crown jewel event.

I wonder what they call "officials expenses." It's not regular season. Those are paid by the home team. I can't imagine post-season costs that much for officials.

Im guessing state tournament officials for all sports. (Hotel,travel, ect ect)
