Wow, didn't see that coming! Any details??

You guys gave Woodland some good bulletin board material when it was stated the real championship had been played the week before when SVE played Campbell county, and when everyone talked about every back in NKY except the two at Woodland, Quincy Perrin and Michael Kawaa. Woodland played with a real chip on their shoulder, and made some big defensive stops, and was the more physical team. Their defense has been good all year, with the starters only giving up more than one TD in a game just twice all year. Woodland also arguably played the toughest schedule of anyone, as in addition to the large schools, they played both champions (Ludlow and Tichenor) in the other two divisions during the regular season.

Woodland has now won the NKMSAA title 2 out of the last 3 years.

Agree. A lot of parity in this league with the large schools. Woodland fought through the adversity early and often, and seemed to be overlooked by the "offense" oriented teams. These boys bonded together and found their identity...Defense. Hard schedule, shutouts, speed, toughness and the least amount of points allowed. They were by far the most physical D of the large schools....and as they began to roll and gel, the offense started coming together.

Great season. Great teams and players throughout the league. Congrats to all teams, players and coaches.

* It should also be noted that Woodland only had 1 home game the entire season.
