Keys for Raceland imo will be to, as the old Oakland Raider Al Davis would say ... "The Opposing QB must go down and he must go down hard and go down often", actually that is a compliment to the fine Eagle qb, he can pick a team apart if left alone to do it. Also, the Rams need to keep tabs on the Washington kid, he's a good one and can get loose, take it to the house at any time. I do think the Rams defense will be ready to play.

As for this thread, discussion on this game, I See it's nice and Quiet for a huge rivalry game. The players / fans at the school in Westwood were probably told not to post (pulling the ol' silent treatment) that's used often oo bgp by fans on rival games.

You know - in a way I kind of like that so I hope that both teams stay injury free and come Friday I am looking for the "new, refreshed and re vamped" Ram Attack and-----

The Rams will struggle with Fairview's skill but will dominate the O/D line......Rams by 2 TD's plus.

 

They’re not going to struggle with Fairview’s “skill.” They only have one guy with any speed. He may make some catches, but he’s not Baker, Dalton, or Brown. I’d say after watching the line play this past Friday Roy will be on the move more than Osama Bin Laden was before we dusted him.

And if they shut him down Fairview has nobody else that can pose a threat to Raceland. Washington can dance but exactly he's not Baker. Raceland has had two weeks to prepare for the Fairview offense and I believe Fairview can't move the ball if their screen game isn't working.

The game is at Raceland this week but I don't think that they are dumb enough in Westwood to allow Mr. PA behind the microphone again.

Skill has given the R/W Rams problems all season. Much like the West Carter game, Fairview will not be able to control the LOS, but will make some big plays. Neither team has any D-1 type players or speed but Fairview's skill is the only chance they have.

I believe this is the last chance Fairview has to be competitive in this rivalry for a good 5 years at the very least. Just left in bad shape.

RAMS ... This is also Senior Night, always an emotional game and especially at the start / first series or so. Underclassmen - pick up your Seniors / cover them, especially at the start of the game. After that, Football sets in and takes over.

I have been thinking back about our offensive production this year. Play calling, what has worked, what hasnt, and something crossed my mind. We have seen a few wrinkles briught out, that we havent really used on a consistent basis, but always seemed to have been productive for big gains.

 

1. Our two minute offense (quick passes in the flats or across the middle), in the two games we really used it (Valley/Portsmouth), looked really sharp and productive.

 

2. The Jet Sweep or WR reverse. We have only seen it a handful of times. But when Cam Webb ran it, it looked great, picking up 10-15 yards each time.

 

My question is this, do you all think that These are things we are simply not going to do very much, or has the staff been holding back some, simply because the ground and pound has been enough to get by?

 

Also curious if anyone knew anything about Damon. I heard he got injured in the JV game. Any news there?

Roy and Washington might hook up for a couple of big plays but I don't think Fairview can put together four quarters against Raceland. If the Rams are focused and not looking ahead to next week's heavyweight showdown, I think they'll win comfortably.

I agree. I really think Fairview will break a long pass, maybe 2 for a TD. I think if it happens, it will be early on. Hard to simulate their run and gun with the scout team. But I like the way our secondary has improved, I think you may see Nathaniel get some defensive reps this week as well, to give us a little better coverage at the LB spot. With the way Bailey Walker and Blake Whitt have been pass rushing lately, that could almost become a nickel package with a VERY physical extra DB in Nathaniel. Real season starts tomorrow, time to put up or shut up!
