Really, I was trying to think of a comparison....Beholder is scratching from the BC Classic due to a lung irritation causing bleeding. I am really disappointed we won't get to see her run against American Pharoah.

October 31, 201510 yr Author Great run after troubles by Liam's Map to win the dirt mile. He would have had a major impact in the Classic one way or the other. I understand the owners decision though....high probability to win the BC dirt mile....lesser chance to win the classic. He goes to stud now with a BC win.

Yes... of course he's also the only horse to win the Triple Crown in the time the Breeders' Cup has existed so it's the first time any horse has ever really had a shot at it.
