September 30, 201510 yr Interesting study I found. What pitching speed stated in MPH yields the most success for batters in MLB? This is from 2008 on. Hint: Batters hit .286 .
September 30, 201510 yr I've discussed this anecdotaly (sp?) with some former pro hitters. There seemed to be a preference for 91-92mph fastball. You don't have to really wait on it but it's not too fast. Of course there's no science behind that. As Steve Springer says, '92 looks like a water balloon when you see it every day'.
