Beechwood 8 Ryle 4

Featured Replies

Too bad everyone else was hitting.;)

To be fair, after the first inning, it worked perfectly for Ryle.

I guess the question should be concerning walking Sawyer.

Does anyone know when the simi state game against HC start, I have heard 2 different things?

After Sawyers HR, I walk both...every at bat.

Those two arent the only Offensive threats.

But I'm sure Bob would take 2 walks, back to back everytime..

No they are not. However, if the same scenario plays out and Neumann doesn't hit, Ryle only gives up 4 runs.

For the record, man on 3rd and 2 outs...I walk Sawyer and Curley to get to Neumann. It would've paid off tonight, obviously Chris didn't matter but Sawyer sure did.

So true, tonight beechwood did it all... they hit for power and conbtact. They bunted runners onto first, bunted them over, played good defense, pitched well, etc. They deserved to win the game. Congrats to them. A lot too should be said about Ryle, after the first inning it would have been easy to just fall back and give in, they kept up the pressure and made a game of it after all.

Congrats to the Tigers, and good luck down in the state sectionals!

BTW, hats off to Chas Moore for executing one of the least utilized plays - the hard bunt to the 2nd baseman. It works a lot but its rarely tried. Tanner Browning of CCH was good at it as well. Once it passes the mound, its a hit. Moore came around to score the run that took the wind out of Ryle's sails.

Chas gets on by bunting more than anyone I've seen.

Including bunt hits, I've seen him get a hit at least 5 times in the last 3 games without the ball leaving the infield.

He has been a big addition to the Tigers this year in all 3 sports. He is a great kid, and a great athlete.

Congrats to Beechwood and good luck at Semi-State. You outplayed us tonight. Thanks to Florence Freedom for allowing the tourney to use such a great facility. I sure enjoyed watching the Raider seniors for 4 years: Jerrod Babik, Giovanni Devita, Josh Dusing, Micah Forman, Mark Guttridge and Steven Sander. Best wishes always and God bless you! Hold your heads high!

Congrats to the Beechwood Tigers. I have been saying all along Curley was saving his best stuff for this one game and he was phenomenal tonight. Beechwood played a great game and executed in every aspect of the game. They proved tonight that other people can beat you besides Curley and they are a TEAM. Good luck to the tigers at state.

On a side note, Ryle has nothing to be ashamed of. They played their tails off and played with the best team in the region even after getting down early. Ryle has showed alot of heart these past couple days and they're champions in my book, win or lose. Condolences go out to the Ryle faithful and thanks for a great season.

Curly did great on the mound, he had 12k's and only 1BB. He did what u ask every pitcher to do and that is to allow your offense to win, and keep your team in the game. Beechwood hit the ball good, and played solid defense except for a ball that bounced over Sawyer's head. Congrats to the Tigers and good luck the rest of the way.
