I saw where someone was DQ'd in the AA meet for "identity theft". Does that mean that someone had a wrong competitor number, or were stolen credit cards involved?

KHSAA site has Trinity with 74 points and X with 67 points through 18 events. What else is left? Does anyone know if this is the final?

I saw the same thing. It looks like the Rocks won but... its pretty confusing. Besides, if its not over i don't want to jinx them.

I just checked the Courier Journal. Trinity 1st, x 2nd. x had a chance to win the meet by winning the final event, the 1600 relay. They finished seventh. Congratulations Rocks and Coach Magre.

:confused: X could have put it away with the 3200 run. Scott McClain finished 3rd but Long the #1 seed in the event failed to score.Im curious as to what happened to him since he was out of it from the begginng

My limited understanding of this type of DQ is that it involves competing with an incorrect competitor number. If it is determined that the violation is intentional, the KHSAA may invoke fines (school and coach), individual/team disqualification, etc.

 

I'm guessing that this is spelled out in the track and field rules book, but I don't have a copy.

One HUGE drawback for UofL is the fact that the throwing events would need to take a shuttle to their venue. To me, that would be putting them below the other events since most people would not get to see them compete. Makes it especially tough for a small school coach who coaches a lot of different events too.

 

I would imagine that one of the biggest drawback is that U of L is not centrally located within the state. There will always be disparity in the amount of travel required but having the meet in Lexington seems pretty logical in this regards.

That's such a lame argument. It's way more centrally located, especially for the folks from Western Kentucky. People just use that "centrally located" phrase as code for "we want to have it at UK."

That's not my opinion. I think the facilities at Dunbar were terrific and have no need to see them at UK. I imagine the folks in the eastern part of the state would prefer not to have the added travel to Louisville as well. How about having them at Pikeville College?

Just speaking as someone that has talked to parents and athletes here in Raceland "Ram Country" we would love to see it stay at Dunbar h.s. in Lexington. Their facilities are second to none, including U.K.. The people at Dunbar, KHSAA and U.K. volunteers ran things professionally and went out of their way to accomodate everyone the best they could. The only problem as someone posted earlier is that you could not se the whole trackm if sitting in the bleachers. Thank you again to Dunbar h.s. and all involved in running such a great meet.:thumb:
