If I advised her I would tell her to never say the word "fired" again. She could say something like "CEOs don't stay forever" or "my time ended there" instead.

 

The tricky part for her isn't that she was fired, it's the performance of the company and the layoffs. She has to defend her work there in a way that accounts for the dip in the stock price and the layoffs.

 

I hate that politics is this superficial, but that's how it is. If she gets into a long disquisition on the tech bubble and corporate re-structuring she's lost the audience.

Shirley Chisholm, a black female, won the New Jersey Democratic primary in 1972. Having noted that, I agree with your central point. White males have dominated state presidential primaries in both parties. Obama's nomination in '08 was a game-changer. The Republicans have no such redefining moment, unless you want to point to the ill-advised selection of Sarah Palin as VP nominee in '08.

So again I ask if Rubio wins would you not count him as a minority candidate ?

I'm a Paul guy. I thought he did very good.

 

But as someone who didn't even consider Fironia prior I'm 100% thinking about it now. She was strong . Very strong.

I'm not worried about the GOP when the top two candidates for the Democrats are a socialist and someone being investigated by the FBI.

 

I wasn't worried in 2012 that Obama would get a second term. Sadly, I have little confidence in the American voter.
