It was deeper than that, the CCH defense wanted no part of tackling Jones from LexCath.

You keep saying that. The defense played well tonight. Jones was gaining yards against a tired Colonel defense that was put on the field too much.

I'll disagree slightly with the "played well" claim. Had plenty of chances to pin LC back or make stops that they didn't that prolonged drives. If Legend Brumbaugh didn't get hurt it was going to be ugly.

A few boys were simply afraid to make a tackle. Others struggled when they did try to make a tackle.

I will say this. SOPH Kam Butler can play and will be a handful to deal with over the next couple of years.

Just heard Coach Perry say that on the post game show. Tough for him. If he can make it back for the playoffs though that is all that matters.

Not to take anything away from Fagot, he's a gamer, but Brumbaugh makes the offense a lot more dangerous.

This was not the same CovCath team that I saw on film vs Ryle.

How much did getting rocked by those big Ohio teams effect the Colonels?

Sounds like Legend broke his collarbone. That's a shame.

Glad to see Lex Cath held on for the win.

Always great to get your input.

They were not the same team for about 3 quarters. I think they may have woke up now though.

Disagree-they just couldn't tackle him.

Is McGinness okay?

They gave up 13 points.

This CCH team should be very proud of almost pulling this win out. This would not have happened last year. Never gave up with 80 yards to go... 2 scores behind... with something like 6 minutes to go. Time to get the first win next week in your backyard.

Penalties and a backup QB.

How many times was CovCath inside the 30 and not score?

Too many.

I can think of 5 plays that CCH could have gotten points but didn't and on most of them the drive resulted in 0.

3 times they had a receiver 2 steps behind the deepest defender and could not complete the pass.

They had a WR that got chased down to stop a TD - no points on the drive.

Missed a FG that was plenty long but was hooked.

Then you have the 2-pt conversion where it appeared the CCH WR was open but the ball slipped out of AJ's hand.

Execution.

I had the pleasure of meeting the legend Gary Ball last night. Very pleasant cat. Good to talk to.

I also got to meet William Warfield of Prepspin. Impressive operation/business he has going.
