I really feel sorry for the players from Boone.

 

To any parent and/or player in line to go to Boone County, if your son/you are a gifted football player find another another school. Ryle should be a consideration but beyond Ryle you need to look outside of Boone County.

2 tds maybe 50 yards. Platoon system keeping all RB's stats down. Team rushing is good but individuals not over the top. Everyone is doing their job when called upon. Truly a team concept.

I've said this before and it still stands true.

 

First off no NKY school

will ever get a 6A title and if they do it will be far and very few between. On top of that Boone has a couple things working against them. I'm talking Boone County as a whole, not the school. Boone county is 1 of only 2 counties in the state with closed enrollment which I don't care what anyone says, it is a disadvantage. Then on top of that you have 4 public high schools within 7 miles of each other with closed enrollment which spreads the talent too thin across all 4 schools. What makes Boone Co High School even more of a disadvantage than the other 3 is the fact that the other 3 schools still

have room for growth in their residential areas which means greater numbers in the future. Boone Co HS is basically land locked with no growth in the near vicinity.

 

It it just doesn't look good when talking about the football program.

That is completely unprofessional for you to say. That is a shot at Boone County and the school system. I am sure that is in retaliation from the experience your son had as well as not one Head coach in Boone County will give you or this website any respect. If you don't like the Boone County or any school in the system then leave. We don't want you here either.

Boone Co hasn't been relavent in football since Shawn Alexander and their not going to be anytime soon, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this.

There are plenty of districts that don't have open enrollment. Saying Boone County is 1 of 2 is way off base.

Very good coach but too many good ones to absolutely say best in the area. If that is your opinion that is fine, but there would be plenty of spirited discussions about who is really the best.

The best Boone has looked all year is when they played Bourbon County in the preseason game. That game seemed like a lot of other kids got to play and looked pretty good. Most of the kids that looked good in that game don't see the field in the reg season. The game against Ryle, Boone first possesion they were marching it down the field w/ # 45 busting a hole threw Ryle's line and # 5 following him for 5-7 yard at a time picking up a couple of first downs. I might be wrong, but I don't think # 45 seen the field the rest of the game and the running game was negative in yards the rest of the game. Another thing that would help Boone is to coach a kid how to properly tackle. It seemed Boone thought it was a two hand touch game.

In the past, I have seen posters complaining about Ryle having too many parents of players as coaches on the team. Does Ryle have parents of players still coaching its football team? What is your thought on having parents as coaches. I believe it isn't good at the high school level. What I have seen over the years, the parent / coaches talk it is all about the team, but a lot of times the actions don't back this up. Could this be hampering Boone?

No. And the notion that coaches don't play the best players is ludicrous.

Lawnboy 13 your way off base. Boone was relevant since Shawn Alexander. The time period from 2002-2009 Boone had more playoff wins than any other 6A teams. They went to the 4th round of the playoffs 3 times and again in 2011. They had at least 2 3rd round appearances. During that time period that was better than anyone else in 6A from NKY

Can't speak for HB, but I think he is referring to this county which is not to far fetched. Engler is a good coach, just not enough years under his belt yet. Trosper is a good coach as well but I give the nod to Borchers. (I realize I am a little partial.) Steele is TBD.
