Llyod 5 Dixie 3 8 innings (34th District)

Featured Replies

Lloyd beat Dixie 5-3 in 8 innings. Know nothing about the game, as I just saw it on the KSHAA web page.....

Big win for the Juggs.

I am happy to see that, especially after that great piece the Enquire ran on the Difmeyer kid and the challanges he has overcome.

Driffmeier from what I have also seen is a very nice guy. The two times we have played them he has been what I would consider a class act. Never an unkind word, keeps his cool well, and never has anything bad to say. Good guy from what Ive seen, and after the perofrmance tonight not a bad pitcher either. Congrats to the Juggs!

Errors lost this game for Dixie. A dropped pop-up by the 3rd baseman in front of second base (should have been the shortstop's ball) with 2 outs allowed the tying run to score in the 6th. In the 8th, Lloyd got some hits, along with another costly error on a potential double play ball, and put 3 runs on the board. Dixie managed to get some runners on in the bottom of the inning, and also got a run across, but that was it. Congrats to Lloyd. Good luck tomorrow in the championship game.

Wow. Lloyd is sort of up and down , aren't they?

Nice job, Juggs.

Congrats to Coach Moore and the Juggs...

Great job by Aaron and his team today. It would have been very easy for them to fold it in for the season, but Drifmeyer and the JUGGS played tough and well. Congrats.:thumb:

Young team with a veteran pitcher on the mound tonight for the Juggs. Sophomore Matt Gregory led off the 8th with a basehit, and then senior Patrick Ryan bunted and was safe at first with a head first slide. Sophomore Kaleb Downey then came up and hit an opposite field single down the first base line to plate 2 runs and the Juggs got the win.

Villa's article in the Post today was nice about them winning their first ever district game. Could there be a title as well? I know they've beaten the Juggs at least twice this season. Lloyd is an emotional team, but if Moore can keep them focused, this could be another exciting game to watch at the campus of VMA. Very nice facilities there as well! Good luck to both teams tomorrow!

Who would have picked Lloyd and Villa in the championship. One of them perhaps, but I never would have picked both. Congrats to both teams overcoming odds.

Perhaps the beginning of a little tradition or rivalry brewing.

There is a lot of pride and teamwork that went into building the facility.

The Villa Lloyd game tomorrow should be nothing short of a classic. Its going to be a whale of a game seeing as both teams will most definitely play each other VERY competitively.

What do you all think... any predictions?

:thumb: :thumb: I personally know Drifmeyer and have nothing but good things to say about him. He is a great kid and has overcome many obstacles in his life (wearing a hearing aid pretty much his whole life) and deserves credit for all of his accomplishments. Just a flat out prime example of what all high school players should try to emulate, a kid who just loves the game and wants to have fun, win or lose. He always stays positive and tries to keep his teammates up whether the times are good or bad. :thumb: :thumb:

Congrats to Lloyd on an exciting victory over a solid Dixie squad and good luck to both them and Villa in the regional tournament.

Wow! I am surpirsed and disappointed. I was looking forward to the Dixie vs Villa matchup which is obviously not going to happen. Congratulations to Lloyd on the win and Good luck to the the Dixie seniors.

From what I have heard, Villa has beaten Lloyd twice this season. Not sure what the exact outcomes are, but I am sure Villa will be the heavy favorite tonight.
