Beechwood did a lot of experimenting in that first scrimmage versus Conner and it still came down to an incomplete pass in the end zone for the win for Beechwood. The improvement in the second scrimmage when Beechwood started playing more straight, regular season football was huge. IMO, Beechwood wins at least 7 of 10 versus Conner. I am still on the fence about how much better Conner is this year over last year. They are better. I just don't know how much better. This week will help us all out on that one.

In my opinion, the 5-7 spots are kind of a toss up. Campbell County has averaged 18 pts, and 220.5 yards offense per game, and Cov Cath has averaged 17.5 points, and 221.5 yards offense per game. One of the deciding factors was Cov Cath's 5 turnovers against St. X this past Friday (3 fumbles, 2 ints).

 

Beechwood gets my "Boooo!" of the week for establishing that, once again, although the KHSAA requires football programs to report their stats to them, they are too lazy to bother, and would prefer to just pay the fine. Ludlow, Bellevue, and Dayton can all get someone to turn their stats in...but apparently not Beechwood.
