A quick search on each of these two schools' websites, Diocese of Covington website, Google, and Wikipedia you come up with the following enrollment number, maybe not exact due to each site listing a slightly different number, safe to say the numbers are within +/- 5.

2009-2010 school year

NCC enrollment 425

CCH enrollment 499

2014-2015 school year

NCC enrollment 356

CCH enrollment 572

Over these five years

NCC lost 69 students

CCH gained 73 students

I don't have direct information to prove exactly why NCC lost 19% and CCH gained 15% over the same time period but safe to assume some of CCH's gains were directly tied into NCC's losses.

Nice attempt, but a failed one. Look at every other school's demographics and enrollment trends. Look at local populations within each district. You have to look at all the data before making assumptions and conclusions or you end up looking like a fool or being exposed for your agenda. You picked two pieces of data and made a large conclusion about causality. If you went to NCC, you would learn that's not proper logic.

CovCath is a great school and they're doing some great things, so people will continue to look to them as an educational option. NCC is great as well. NCC is in a location that is getting hammered with population loss. They have the smallest district, by FAR, of any other Catholic high school. They have lost students, and there may be a reason, but neither you nor I know those reasons.

So stop making silly assumptions because you have an agenda. We see it for what it is.

Look over your right shoulder onto your shoulder blade. The red and blue striped heart tattoo that you have with the Number 10 in the middle of it. That's him.

I had it covered up with my new UK football 13-0 tatoo. Now lets put our sidebar on hold again, they are back to their argument!

Ladies and Gentleman, I give you DBLYLW as an example of NCC's "proper logic".....remember who started this thread and how......

This thread is a good reason not to venture to Boys Soccer Forum.

Like I needed another reason.

Morbid Curiosity will be enough to suck you in....

Ah. Must stop opening thread. Can't even sit down at my desk to work. So much of the butthurt.

Hey Guru.....Remember a couple of years ago when I kept being a pain and pestered you to pull the soccer thread out on it's own from lacross, wrestling, etc ?

............you are welcome...........

One of us is listing proven statistics that can be backed up by a quick, (included) Internet search and one of us is not. One of us is calling the other names, the other is not. My point was never to say one school is better then the other, I'm sure both are very good schools and the entire area should be grateful we have a community that is supportive of all parochial schools. The point is I'm confident CCH (and maybe NDA) are the only two NKY catholic high schools that over the past 5 years have increased (or at least held steady) enrollment while the others have lost enrollment. Sure there are different reasons for this, is one of them more students have decided to attend CCH (and NDA) over the others in the past five years, the numbers suggest so.

A quick Wikipedia search of population demographics in each CCH's feeder schools' cities show the following. (I included Park Hills and Fort Wright even though technically St Agnes is in Park Hills)

City population 2010 2014 gain

Covington 40640 - 40944- 304

Park Hills 2970- 2997- 27

Fort Wright 5723- 5760- 37

Edgewood 8575- 8741- 166

Crescent Springs 3801- 3987- 186

Total gain 720

Population increased by .012% over this time period. CCH enrollment increased by 15% over the same time period.

Maybe you can call in another favor and have them update the synopsis of the soccer thread, I think they forgot to update it, this is what it says.

"Discuss Kentucky High School Girls and Boys Golf, Soccer and Volleyball in our forum which features rankings and discussions related to schools spanning the entire state of Kentucky."

Who would have known that I would have learned so much about the population patterns of the last 5 years in Northern Campbell County and North Eastern Kenton County? BGP is just like listening to NPR on the way to work. Keep the stats coming guys.

Ok 600 boys and can't field a regional championship soccer team in 5 or so years? So the question of why would you choose Cov Cath over Ncc for soccer is valid.

I bet if Coach McDonald was at CCH they would win regional championships. .... *poke the bear*

You forgot Newport...

1970 25,998 −13.5%

1980 21,587 −17.0%

1990 18,871 −12.6%

2000 17,048 −9.7%

2010 15,273 −10.4%

Come on, Buddy. I need you over here for the next 5 years.

Maybe if your boys weren't going to be "birds", I might. :lol2:

As much as I hate a car wreck, I'm always rubbernecking to see what went on. I find these discussions hilarious.
