Danville, 2006 Class A Champs?

Featured Replies

Two years ago Danville had a very young team in the state finals against Beechwood. Many of the players starting on that team should be seniors in 2006. Is Danville the favorite to win Class A?

Thanks guys. Does anyone know anymore about Danville this year?

Danville is always one of the favorites to win it all.

I haven't forgot THe Mighty Mayfield Cardinal's! I hope to see the nice people of Mayfield Making a visit to the Nice town of Danville! Good luck this year Mayfield!!!;)

IMO NCC will be the team to beat in 1A this year.

Mayfield might have been a power in years past . But to be considered a favorite for next year that team has to show up for the game and play for more 10 minutes and then not quit like in last years 1A championship game .,

IMO NCC will be the team to beat in 1A this year.

Why?

Why?

Beacuse they return a lot, and they are the defending champs.

Why?

Any reason to think differently?

slow your roll. You finally win a title and your gonna dog Mayfield. Ncc has been to the title game three times since 2000 which shows their recent success. After that I have a hard time finding out anything about them (other than your great coach). Mayfield, on the other hand, is 9th nationally in all-time wins, has seven titles to your????? 1 is it????, and in the last 8 years has managed to make it to the final four or further every year except '99 ( lost to Hancock Co. in regional final), and in those 8 years we have made it to the finals as many times as you with as many titles.....3 appearances, 1 title.

Every year we schedule larger schools (much larger I might add) and every year we are prepared come playoff time, no matter if we have a team off all-stars or not. And for some reason I don't see their success dropping off, so............

IMO NCC will be the team to beat in 1A this year.

the defending champs are always the team to beat.

To go along with the actual thread though.......I think Ncc has the advantage to win it all over Danville, strictly from a preseason standpoint. However, it seems that Danville lost close to nothing after graduation and that sounds pretty scary. IF Mayfield and Danville continue to do what they do best (play football), the Cards might have more than they can handle. BUT lets wait and see how the season goes..............
