Time to sign AJ Green

Featured Replies

After Dez Bryant getting $70 mill for 5 years along with Demeryius Thomas also getting a $70 mill 5 year contract and now today TY Hilton getting $65 mill for 5 years (All pro bowl receivers) there is no excuse for the Bengals not to sign AJ to a $70 mill contract for 5 years either. If they don't get it done before the season I think it is a huge mistake by the arrogant management of the Bengals and could cost them either a lot more money to sign him later or cost him one of the best WR's in the league as he walks after they toss the franchise tag on him next year.

They could toss the tag at him two years, right? Which equates to three years on the field and a lot can happen in that time frame.

I am fine if they extend AJ but I see logic on the side of waiting too.

I dont think they should resign him, Tag him for a year, maybe two and draft new WR.

They will sign him by game 1. They then can make decisions and know how much they have with what remains.

Lord, so mean-spirited.

It is said by the way they have handled many players in the past when for some reason they think players enjoy being franchised tagged and expect them to be happy and come back to the bargaining table with open arms.

I don't know of many players who rejoice after being tagged. I do however remember many being upset and then running into the FA market the first chance they get to go to another team.

The Bengals have been good recently at locking up players before the season starts. So I would think the chances are good that they get him sign before the season starts. However I do agree with you that it is a bad thing if they don't. Pay the man!

I'd love to have AJ on this team for 5 more productive years. However, I don't to seem him sign a Vottoesque deal that limits this team for future signings.
