Tilghmans district is much tougher with the addition of Caldwell Co and Union Co. Those 2 along with Trigg Co and Ft Campbell could all conceivably win Bteathitts or Etowns district.

A good program will be left out of the playoffs every year in 3A D1 for sure.

 

Caldwell isn't going to fall off as much as many think. Won't be that much different bt the 2-4 seeds IMO.

How about the fact that either, Garrard, Boyle, or LexCath will have an opening away playoff game - probably against Central... Ouch.

Central will most likely get the 1 seed

 

Worst case there is a 3 seed and a road playoff game against the opposite 2 seed (Bardstown) and then a road game at the District Champion that had probably already defeated them once.

 

The 3 seed wouldn't have to see Central most likely until the Regional Finals..providing Central is able to win at home vs. the 2 seed

I'm not usually one to cry about something being unfair, but 3A is brutal. Some good teams are going to get shafted. There are going to be several 2 v. 3 playoff match ups that are going to be awesome.

3A east is going to be pretty much Belfry for the next four years, maybe Corbin will get after them some or maybe Bell Co can figure out how Dudley did things...but I think Belfry has a better chance than not of being in the finals for the next four years.

E-town has added three transfers this summer. Two brothers from Collins, Brashearer (sp?) I think is their names. One started at OLB for Collins last year as a sophomore. The other will just be a sophomore.

 

They also got a QB to transfer in from Dyer County TN. Etown's starting QB from last year, Hunter Sullivan had Tommy John surgery in the spring after the 9th or 10th game. This kid is an athlete. He was the 5th Region POY in baseball as a sophomore in '14. Very good speed as well. So, they will definitely miss him. He's a legit D1 baseball prospect at SS/pitcher...likely draft pick and very likely before his injury.

 

His replacement thus far has also taken away a two way starter in Jack Wilson, who was their TE and 2 year starter at ILB..all 6'1 220 of him (Rivals has him listed as the 8th best ILB in the state). Problem is, with playing QB, he likely won't be the lead man on the D side of things. So, the senior from TN might be just what the doctor ordered for the Panthers. I'll post some highlights later.

 

The Etown/Adair game on October 16th will be a great game in Columbia.

This class will be very interesting come playoff time.

That's never been the case. It was one per district until 1986, then two per from 1987-90, then four per district since 1991.

3A will have about 4 or 5 legit contenders when all's said and done.. Boyle Co, Lex Catholic, Central, Belfry with teams like PT, Corbin, Bell Co, ETown, Bardstown having a stronger than usual team on occasion..

 

Not sure 1A won't be the most competitive because I don't see that class having a dominant team year in and year out..
