Base it on whatever you want. Their beers. Their breweries. The employees.

Strictly based on beer, I go with Madtree. Really like both, but I've had a lot more of their stuff. Plan on hitting up both breweries in the very near future.

I personally really enjoy both quite a bit. Really enjoy many of their beers on both sides.

But if I had to choose, I think I'd go with Madtree. I like their brewery setup just a little bit more (feels more personable) and it helps that they have Catch-A-Fire pizza right there. Delicious.

Rhinegeist seems more like a fun spot if I was going to go to one with a big group of people though.

I really want to try their Unhappy Amber whenever they bring it back.

Been to Rhinegeist three times now and Madtree twice. Need to spread my brewery love a little bit more but a very big fan of both establishments.

^I really enjoyed the new Rounding Third that they just put out. Really nice red amber.

Definitely a good beer. Had myself one on the Saturday of All-Star weekend.

I'm way more on the Rhinegeist side of things.

As far as Madtree goes, I think Lift and Happy Amber are both fine beers, but there's nothing terribly notable about them either. I'm not a fan of the Gnarly Brown, and for being a fan of IPAs, I really didn't care for the Psychopathy. Sol Drifter, on the other hand, is a great beer. I think they're fools if they don't move that from their seasonal offerings to their year-round brews.

Rhinegeist, however, I can honestly say I've never had a bad beer from. Their Panther porter is one of the best straight porters I can recall ever having. I really like the Zen session IPA, Franz Oktoberfest, and the Hustle rye pale as well. Big fan of Rhinegeist.

More or less my opinion. I haven't had their entire selections but I've really liked everything I've had from Rhinegeist. I've had at least one or two from Madtree that weren't bad, but also forgettable.

Haven't been to either brewery either.

Hustle & Truth are two of my favorites you can find in stores from Rhinegeist.

I've had a Jacques of theirs once and was a big fan. Also really enjoy Stryker.

I'm not a big porter person, but I agree with you @Colonels_Wear_Blue, their Panther is awesome!

Sol Drifter...:puke: If you like tasteless beer, that's the one for you. :D Seriously, it had zero taste to it IMO.

I like both.

Rhinegeist's Truth & Hustle are both very good. I think Mad Tree's IPA (Pyschopathy) is better than Truth. MadTree's Rounding Third Rye is very good, too. Not a big fan of the other beers, although I do drink them on occasion.

As far as the breweries go, Rhinegeist obviously has the history & size on its side. MadTree has a cool set up as well, but I'd have to go with Rhinegeist on the facility itself.

Well it's a blonde, so it's not supposed to be an overwhelmingly big tasting beer to start with, but I've had it three times now, and I felt like the subtlety they gave Sol Drifter was aweseome. The little touch of citrus from the start, and then a nice little strawberry note at then end is really nice, in my opinion.

Have a six pack of Truth in the fridge right now. I'm positive I've had some of Rhinegeist's offerings but wasn't using UnTappd then and don't really remember exactly what.

Never even heard of Madtree.

I'm torn, Truth is my favorite every day beer but I believe Mad Tree has a better portfolio. Dreamsicle, Identity Crisis, Citra/Galaxy High, Axis Mundi (Barrell Aged) and Thundersnow are all solid.

I also enjoyed trips to Fifty West, Mount Carmel and Blank Slate and enjoyed every minute.

It's not Cincy but Jackie O's, Hop Ryot and Mystic Momma are solid offerings.

I plan on making a trip to all three of these at some point. I think next on the list is Fifty West.
