Anyone seen the photos of the new rooftop deck the built at the Rhinegeist brewery?

I might know a guy that proposed to his fiance on it.

I had pictures on my old phone but lost them when I upgraded. Wish I still had them, I'd post them. It's going to be a very nice addition.

They had it open on Halloween for their Hopgeist event. I was impressed. Then a friend took a group of my friends and family up there on 11/7 so I could propose on it.

I think they are going to open it back up in Spring, thought I heard April. They had some finishing touches to put on it but I think it's going to wind up being very nice.

Random from google before they stained and weather proofed everything:

Hadn't realized that. Sounds like a very cool place to propose.

It worked out great. Couldn't be happier with the day and with the Rhinegeist staff that helped make it happen. They gave me a case of Dad, with this stamped on the bottom (they stamp the bottom of all their cans):

Well that's REALLY cool!

So I've been living in Louisville for about 3-1/2 years, but for some reason most of my Greater Cincinnati friends and family still consider me to be the "hip kid" around town. That being the case, my sister-in-law called me a little earlier this evening to ask what I thought about the idea of her hosting my older brother's 40th birthday party at Rhinegeist in November.

Sounded fine to me, and I told her to go for it, but she's worried about it being too crowded and overly loud. For what it's worth, we're going to be rolling in with a crowd of forty or fifty people. She called Rhinegeist and they said they have room for the group, so I'm not too worried about how crowded it will be, in particular, but I don't exactly know how loud it tends to get on Saturday nights at this point (it's been about a year since I was there last, and I don't know that I've ever been on a Saturday night).

Thoughts? Anyone?

If she is going to rent the Annex space, which is what I assume that she is referring to when it says they have a room, then you'll be perfectly fine. You'd be secluded from the public in our own area with your own bar. That can get a little pricy when you're paying for the event space and then the per head price for the drinks.

I'd personally recommend that you guys consider reserving tables in the main taproom, which you can do through them at no additional cost. However, I'd also recommend doing it between maybe 2-8pm. It gets much more crowded after that. We did that exact thing for my 30thBirthday/Wedding Propsal. We had two large tables reserved and you can bring in whatever food and non-alcholic drinks that you want. Place has cornhole and ping-pong and plenty of space to move around.

As far as noise level, you'll be fine in the public area, unless they have live music for some reason, which they rarely do unless its a special Rhinegeist event. The place is a giant warehouse, so there is a constant buzz but I have never thought "it's too loud in here". It will get rather crowded starting around 9pm or so and continue to get more crowded throughout the evening so I'd recommend a late afternoon get together, but that's just me.
