Taylor County split? What?

Hoptown looses 7 seniors every year and the still manage to come out on top. No one gives Hayworth credit he is doing a great job, this will be hoptowns best team by far in the past four years of winning the region. Never had four d1 players in hopkinsville on one team since uha in when barnes, swanagan, victor and buckner was there. The Drive for Five is Alive! Go tigers!!

Goodin is not going anywhere, and while I do think Hoptown is going to be better than what they are getting credit for, I think Christian County has the better team. I really think it is going to come down to how well Atilola does. If he keeps improving, then they have a real chance to win the region a 5th time.

I completely agree. If Atiola continues to improve they are my favorite to win the region and have a serious chance at winning the sweet 16

Two things.

 

A. The 6'9 exchange student isn't eligible yet.

B. Despite their efforts, hoptown wasn't able to get county's best player/players to transfer and fill graduation holes like they did the last 3 years. They also couldn't convince two uha seniors to transfer like they did last year.

 

So... County gets sebree and returns everybody and will add the 6'6 langhi. Hoptown loses 7 seniors and perhaps the best big man from hoptown in the last 15 years (matlock was special, he drug them across the finish line in several wins the last 3 years, its ashame that he couldn't get into a better college situation) and they are expected to win the region?

 

Hoptown doesn't have the stacked deck that he's had the last 4 years... it's county...

Hoptown had 4 d-1 players. They just couldn't get eligible for college. and that's sad.. I feel awful for those kids.

I was told back in the summer time that he was already eligible because he sat out all of last year. I'm not arguing because I legitimately have no idea on the situation. Just relaying what I was told.

I heard Atiola Was playing this summer in scrimmages and is eligible. Just what I've heard. Hoptown lost a lot but they return 2 starters 2players who played a lot off the bench and possibly Akeem. I've heard he's anywhere from 6'8 to 6'10. Regardless he gives them what they'll be lacking a significant big guy

While I agree that Christian County is the favorite, Hoptown is no slouch of a team and very well can make it to their 5th consecutive Sweet 16.

 

County has Edwards and Sebree. Sebree being the piece that puts them on top. He is a great player and should have better components overall around him than he did at UHA. Edwards is one of the better guards in the state and I feel he is underrated.

 

Hoptowns Atilola is definitely eligible. He was eligible as of Feb 2015, but only has one year of eligibility so HHS told him to wait instead of playing only for a few weeks. Jalen Johnson is an outstanding player that I also consider as one of the best guards in the state. Hennegan is also much improved. Their bench won't be as deep as in past years, but I expect a 25+ win season from both teams.

Atilola is eligible 100%! He has been playing all summer with the team. I saw him play when he first got here and got a chance to see him the other day. He is alot stronger and game has improved in huge leaps and bounds! He will shock alot of people. His mid range jumper is money now! Can shoot from the free-throw line and thats where he will spend alot of time!

Christian County is the most exciting and deepest team in the state this year and also they are the lengthiest team in the state. And also the best shooting team in the state. And also the best defensive team in the state. Having every single player coming back with the addition of jalen sebree has to be in discussion this year for winning state.

Homer alert! Homer alert! I'm on the Christian County to dethrone Hopkinsville bandwagon as much as anyone, but it's going to be a challenge just to get out of the region. Way too early for the state champion talk when this team hasn't been there since Anthony Hickey.

Has Sebree actually been declared eligible to play? I have been told yes and no, but I do know he lives in Hoptown's district and obviously is transferring from UHA. I hope he gets cleared if he hasn't been, but I do wonder how if he lives in a different district.
