75%.

And I'm being conservative.

Don't think I'd go THAT high. Realistically though, I'd say 40% of the people driving, shouldn't be for one reason or another, and that's probably a safe bet. A simple reason would be nothing more than a large number of that 40% just CAN'T drive. Driving is a skill, and not everyone has it.

I agree.

And if I'm being completely honest, an argument could definitely be made for me to be in that 75%. Haven't had any issues in just over 4 years (knock on wood), but I put together a pretty impressive string of bad driving in the couple years before that. :lol2:

I'm with TheDeuce, right around 75%. I spend a lot of time driving due to my business choice. I have learned that turn signals on newer vehicles must be an expensive option that no one wants to pay for. Also 99% of the time that I am nearly involved in an "accident" its due to the other driver being on the phone, having no clue what is going on around them.

Side note: I'm pretty sure you have your signs backwards in the poll. :D

Dang...I sure do...didn't catch that.

It's disturbing to me how many people don't use signals, and don't know how to properly merge.

Oh, don't EVEN get me started on that topic!

Do they even have people drive on the interstate when they take the driving test?

I firmly believe that after a certain age, people should be tested yearly to demonstrate that they should still retain their license. I'm not going to throw an age out there but let's just say, if you have blue hair and look like the crypt keeper, you should not be driving anymore.

Hey, let's leave Hellbird out of this topic:lol2:

The driving test is a joke. To answer your question, no they do not, at least not in Kenton County. I was astounded as to how easy the drivers test is after accompanying two of my kids to do their road test. Basically if you can stop at stop sign, drive through a subdivision, and parallel park (in front of a car, not in between two cars), and manage the speed limit you're good to go. I'm still shocked there is no drivers ed taught here in schools.

As to how many should actually have a license. I don't think it's as high as most of you. I think cell phones and other electronics have created more distractions, which have caused more problems than people being "bad drivers". I do think there are many more older folks driving than there should be. We'll soon be having that conversation with my father law, that it's time to give up the wheel.
