10:23 pm ... howling begins at the stadium ... I change the channel to watch something else. That is the absolute dumbest, most irritating thing that I have seen/heard in my lifetime at a baseball game. Ranks right up there with women tennis players grunting on every swing and vuvuzelas at soccer matches.

Ever listen to Thom Brennamen??

Ever listen to Thom Brennamen??

Marty's past his shelf life (Sunday in NY, he actually called Joey Votto, Johnny Bench then nearly did it again. Caught himself in mid word the second time).

But, I'll still take him every day and twice on Sunday (which I had to do this week) over Thom.

BTW, I blame BGP and all the Reds guru's for this post's placement. Should have been in the Mets/Reds thread. But, nobody started one and apparently nobody noticed for three days.

Mostly concur. Are legal adults making these noises? If so, I give you reason number 23,567 why our civilization is doomed. Same guy who think's howling is cool, is responsible for getting his kid to school the next day, or voting next to you every November. UGHHH.

Sidenote; I have no idea what you're talking about with soccer. But, I'll give the tennis players a pass. At least they are athletes who are the best in the world at their sport.

Is it annoying, yes. Is Payton saying "Omaha" 40 times a game annoying...pass given (pun unintended).

If Billy Hamilton could be an Average hitter he'd be the greatest base stealer of all time.

Durability would be factor number one for this statement. Stealing bases takes a huge toll and puts a lot of the body at risk.

If he ever became a decent hitter he may either be hurt all the time, or stop stealing so many bases for the sake of his health.

Taking my nephew tomorrow night. Hopefully the rain holds off.

Would love to have a repeat of last night's weather tonight.

Let me know if you will be out by the power stacks.

Or that damn whistler from Vanderbilt I heard on EVERY CWS telecast that involved the Commodores!!

Anybody else notice that he is now sliding feet first -- and does not look comfortable doing so? He seems to slide VERY late and comes into the bag at warp speed. Helped him kick the ball out of the 3B glove last night, but could easily lead to a turned ankle OR bouncing off / over the bag. Of course, sliding head first leads to a lot of injury exposure as well. Hmmmm.

I hate that the premise of this post came from that clown Lance McAlister, but any who....

Most say it takes a full year to come back from knee surgery before you're back to 100%.

Since hitting the 1 year mark from his knee surgery (May 5) last year, Jay Bruce's #'s: .270 avg. 12 2B, 7 HR, 25 RBI, 24 BB, and an OBP of .359.

That's over 48 games. That projects out to a 162 game average of.......... .270 avg. 41 2B, 24 HR, 84 RBI, 81 BB, and a .359 OBP. Is there a Reds fan out there that wouldn't be happy with those numbers from Bruce?

It was obvious that Bruce was rushed back way too soon. I was very frustrated that they didn't send him out on a rehab assignment, too. He's absolutely been hot lately.
