From some of the comments on here after the hire it sounds like no one should be surprised by the less than professional actions of the coaching staff.

Woodford County has three (3) ranked offensive linemen in the top 13 recruits in the state, including top ranked center - Drake Jackson, per 247 Sports.

Paper? It looks like they are the best line on the field, they have the number two ranked lineman in the state (who is also the number one center in the nation), the eight lineman in the state and the number 13 lineman in the state. Two are D1 commits, and the third has multiple D1 offers.

Seen Woodford lose to Nelson County the last two years. Jackson didnt stand out, no disrespect but no way he is number 1 center in nation. Recruiting rankings are based on combine results and projections/hype. I cant see a kid who plays all KY competition all season long truly be the best prospect at any position nationally.

Exactly I watched Lafayettes oline play last year and nobody stood out.

Will see if these great linemen can score too. Cause after watching WC skill personnel at UK 7-7, it's hard to pin point where their scoring going to come from.

Damien Harris was the number one RB in the Nation last year. He was from Kentucky, didn't play out of state competition and was not on a power house program.

Perform all you want at combines with shorts and tshirts, pads on Friday night is a different story.

People always say that, but the fact remains, as you said, he is ranked number one. He competed at those combines and camps against those kids from Texas, Florida and California. He has the D1 offers to prove where he is at.

He competed against those kids in shorts. If he is that good he will demonstrate it. But recruiting is just as much about potential as results, colleges look at size and believe they can coach those kids up. But when you get to the D1 level you arent going to just dominate because you arent the biggest fastest and strongest anymore.

 

Look at Elam last year. Has all the potential, but no conditioning and no technique, he got by in HS because he was just bigger than everyone. Eventually he might have an impact, but he wasnt one of the best freshmen DL in country despite what his recruiting ranking may say.

I don't understand, for years people said that Kentucky didn't have elite players because they didn't compete against the "Football states", now they compete against the "Football States" and the players till aren't good enough.

 

Let's face it, Jackson is a Nationally elite football player, he is from Kentucky and he has competed against the players from the "Football States" to earn his rankings. He is the number one player in the country at his position. He deserves to be praised for his accomplishments.

It's a good thing no one cares about your opinion. When all the major recruiting services have him ranked between #1 and #4 the kid can play. Sometimes kids get bored. Not every great player dominates on every play.

It's too bad Shaun Alexander had to play his high school football against other Kentucky kids. Can you imagine if he would have got to play running back against Texas high school teams. He could have been awesome.
