June 18, 201511 yr Unfortunately Domestic Violence and Custody Battles know no boundary...horrible day for those kids.
June 18, 201511 yr I want to hear more facts but when you are dealing with a co-worker that would risk/give his life to protect your life (and may have already done so) it has to be real hard to pull the trigger even though you know you have to stop the threat. Just horrible.

Just horrible. Agree wholeheartedly. Loyalty, like it or not, has an impact on your decision-making. However, it certainly can cause some to say "Oh, I see how it is."
June 18, 201511 yr Like I said in another thread recently, we should all question authority and this is definitely one of those times. However, I am not sure what the solution is when you think about the larger picture. And that larger picture is we want our protectors to think before acting with their firearm but sometimes the result will be worse. As a police officer, the thought of harming anyone, especially someone that works with you, goes against everything ingrained in you.
