True, Longer series benefits TV (can sell more commercial time) but not the NBA, because the NBA already got paid. Long series only benefits TV partners of the NBA. But, the more money TV makes during this contract the more they are willing to pay for the next one, so there is "Some" incentive for the NBA to have a long series.

The fix is in, though, and GOlden State will win.

1. The NBA execs have flight plans booked back to NY, not to Oakland.

2. Oakland has parade plans and road closure information leaked already for tomorrow Noon PDT.

3. The league was rehearsing trophy presentation this afternoon in Quicken Loans Arena.

4. Scott Foster is the NBA's crew chief ref tonight. Road team has won his last 11 games.

 

1. I have no explanation on this one. Unless they were flying to NY and then flying back to Oakland for the game (there would be an off day).

2. Well for a city like Oakland it helps to plan ahead for large events like parades.

3. I would hope they would practice since it was possible a champ could be crowned at the end of the game.

True, but for future deals a Game 7 with a few million more viewers is beneficial.

The NBA is not rigged - none of the other sports are either (except maybe soccer - you never know with the FIFA bunch)...

 

No way you could keep it a secret this day and age and the results year after year bear out that it is not fixed...

 

Also, all the people involved (players/commissioner)make so much money as it is, why would they take a chance with losing it all (and maybe going to jail) to fix a game...

I was there in Cleveland. Walked to the arena when the game was going on. The streets were packed with Cav shirts everywhere. All the restaurants were full as well as the bars. You could hear loud cheers when the Cavs scored. There were no riots and the next day the streets were empty.
