Cleveland 96 Golden State 91 (Game 3)

I think he is getting the praise that he deserves for his play and the difference he has made so far in the series.

He's had big moments in each series so far. The Lin comparisons are weird. There is nothing to compare. Different scenarios, different roles, different everything. I don't get those.

Same here.

I wonder how KD feels now that he's watching at home? Has to be thinking that healthy they had a legit shot.

Golden State would have beaten them. They weren't going to win with Scott Brooks IMO.

Easily said after the fact. And perhaps you're right. However, if they would have won the west, Russ and KD put an entirely different kind of stress on you. I think the matchup may have been worse for Cleveland than GS.

Lin and Dellavedova went to non-powerhouse basketball schools (Harvard/St. Mary's). Both were undrafted. Lin was cut twice, Dellavedova is a career 4 points per game player. Both got a chance to play a significant role because of an injury to a star player (Carmello/Kyrie). Both exceeded all expectations. Both came from relative obscurity to the national spotlight.

1 by 1 here.

Dell didn't come out of nowhere. He has gotten his chance to play a role the whole post season. He had a good series against the Hawks by filling a specific role. He hit a couple of big shots and played Teague tough. Everything that he is doing now is by playing off of James. James is still the star. Lin was a flash in the pan who caught fire when Anthony was out. He averaged something like 20 and 8 during that dtretch. Once the star came back, Lin basically came back to Earth and ultimately had to leave. Dell will fill this 2nd team PG role for awhile. They have a similar collegiate background but their professional story are two completely different tales.

OKC wouldn't lose the battle of the boards. Of course, they don't stretch you like the Warriors.

Deli averaged 4.7 ppg his rookie season. 4.8 ppg this season.

Lin averaged almost 20 ppg as an everyday Knick player. His ppg dipped when Carmello came back but he still averaged double figures. Until Lin tore his meniscus he remained a factor. He didn't have to go. The Knicks made a major play to resign Lin but Houston offered stupid money.

Whether Delly is a flash or comes back to earth remains to be seen.

He averaged double figures during the regular season. Delly is never going to be more than a 4-6ppg player, but he plays good defense and provides a spark. The only thing in common is position and not being drafted.

Any hype that he is getting is media generated. He didn't do anything differently in Game 3 than he's done throughout the end of the season. Linn had to carry a team.
