Kissimmee School Resource Officer Arrested For Assaulting Student

A school resource officer has been charged with child abuse after throwing a 13 year old boy to the ground and twisting his arm behind his back. The officer was intervening in an argument between the student and his mother. When the boy would not look at him while he was talking the officer attempted to grab him by the chin and make him look at him. The child pushed the officer's hand away. That is when the officer the him to the ground and twisted his arm behind his back. When he let the child up he then pushed him into a desk. The officer claimed that the child acted aggressively towards him but video showed that he was lying and he was arrested.

I ain't saying he should of touched him, but I understand.

 

The kid was 13. There's no excuse for that. If he didn't think he was acting respectful then turn him over to the principal but if he's not posing any kind of a physical threat he has no cause to put his hands on him.

13 is just a number anymore. There are 13 year olds on the streets who will shoot you for your shoes or knock you out just for fun.

Huh, if the kid pushed a cop, what do you expect him to do? Sounds to me (again this is without video) that the cop did what he should have to restrain the kid.

That was the cop's story. What the video showed is that the kid put his hand up to block the cop's hand when he tried to make the kid raise his face up. That is why the cop was arrested and charged with child abuse. Obviously his own police department didn't agree with the way he handled it.
