You saw students from other high schools and their parent(s) or guardian(s) walk up to a coach during summer practice inquiring about transferring??? Things must be very interesting outside Jefferson County.

This surprises me. Those not enrolled at a high school, I would understand that. But once you are in a school, that changes things.

Should you be taking about me then you posted that wrong. I did say that I couldn't care any less about Fairview,,,,,meaning the football program and how the school was ran. I absolutely stand by that. I also said that I have several friends in Westwood that are Eagle alums, attended there at the same time (mid 70's ) that I attended Raceland. . I actually do feel for the hometown Westwood kids that were pushed out of playing time by Greed, Cheating and a few Adults that wanted to feed their ego. There are also some Very Upset Alums, parents of kids out there that have paid school taxes for years, donated their time and money to the schools various programs to see their money used in that way.

I will also say that you are correct in that there are "some, certainly not all" Fairview fans I couldn't care any less what they think and I am sure the feeling is mutual. I am fine with that, so you see there is an agreement, understanding after all . I just wanted to clear that statement up.

Guys, enough is enough. What was done is done. Let's just move on. Infractions were committed, punishment is pending. Time to get ready for next season. Unfortunately, good people in Westwood will pay for the sins of a few. Again, unfortunate but they black eye will be with them for a very long time.

 

You are correct but that is what you guys want from people I've talked with. (Fairview be mediocre)I'm not saying I agree with that statement but I've always been told don't go messing on other peoples yard until you clean up yours. I believe in life some people love to bash others and miserable people love to attract misery to others. I hope everyone involved gets past the crap and can focus on cleaning up their own yards. While reading the oea report I found myself thinking musick sure threw many folks under the bus for self preservation, lord knows he needs to clean up his yard first. Have a nice day guys!

If you are referring to me, I don't hate any school. Yes, I get some fun out of picking at some of these people but I treat kids from almost every school in the tri-state area. I don't agree with cheating, no matter where it is occurring...... So, just to answer your question, F'view and Raceland are District rivals but only between the lines. Us adults have to recognize this and be a little nicer.

I do not want to cause trouble but there are wrongdoers at every school. Even Raceland. I know of one Raceland parent that approached two football players that just graduated from Lewis County in the 6th and 7th grade and talked to them about if they would be interested in coming to Raceland to play. Of course that doesn't cast a shadow over the whole program and I believe that there were many more involved in the wrongdoings of Fairview but not one program is 100% innocent. The coaches at Raceland may be straight and narrow but most hay stacks have a needle somewhere.

Bluegrasspreps does not allow discussion of alleged violations of schools. BGP does allow discussion of violations when the KHSAA has found wrongdoing. If anyone is aware of wrongdoing by a program they are encouraged to report the wrongdoing to the KHSAA for investigation.

Fairivew keeps burying themselves. They keep this up and they might not even have a school...

I have been in and around Westwood/Fairview for years and years, possibly longer than some on this sight have been alive. I am a supporter but I am also a realist. All State Baseball I don't think that you are far from the truth at all. I hate to say it because I love the small school, community feeling that was here for years and years but have to say that all that I saw that came from it that will remain is the now distrust in the school that we all loved for years. I along with several other long time residents are embarrassed by what all went on and in reality may still be, just to a lesser extent bc they got caught. School taxes were voted in here a few years ago, supposedly needed to keep the school due to financial and other problems. Residents were told this and I have to say that was at the same time that they started pouring money into the football program, facilities and I heard but cannot confirm that the now departed superintendent was planning to put in the field turf in addition to all of the other improvements on the football field, stands, etc.. All of this also was at the exact time that these out of state kids were brought in for the one reason to play football, Period. I hate it for our kids but Fairview schools actually deserve to lose their Independent School status and go in with Boyd County schools system.

 

In the report it stated NO ALLEGATIONS were found as fact against the Football program. I noticed that was conveniently left out on any post hmmm wonder why?

You know as well as I do that all that was investigated with the school had to do with the football program because that's what and all that our superintendent and high school principal was feeding. I feel that all of the misuse of funds, favorable treatment to some teachers that were coaches or helping the football team in other ways along with the job threats and other mistreatment of teachers and others that weren't in football. So yes, technically the latest findings that were found wasn't on the football program but anyone that will admit it knows that everything was because of and for the football program.

I haven't posted on here for a long time but have been reading. I apologize to the moderators if my post above had anythig in it that as wrong. I just got fed up with the Talon and sidelnedoc 2 trying to cover up what was done here if they want people to get past it. We, Fairview people have to own what was done, it was wrong.

I think that the new administration should make an effort to eliminate anyone that may be left from the previous football staff and administration but that is up to the new boss. Superintendent, High School principal, probably a couple of school board members along with one or two wealthy money contributors cheated, there is no other way to say it. Fault lies with those people in the system and no one else from Raceland, Ashland (who did report their former player out of eligibility that was taken by Fairview) or anywhere else.

Should I see any of those individuals out and about it will be very tempting to ask them if winning a district, region along with beating Raceland (their only original goal) was worth it to them. I am thankful that I now don't have anyone in the school, are out and I am done.

My sources said a few disgruntled parents were behind followup calls to the KHSAA. This might have aided in the harsh punishment given. Some parents were heard saying they would rather lose with non-transfer students and wanted something done.

 

The bottom line is all the rumors about free housing, free utilities, ect... We're not true. In the end the only KHSAA football violation was the Ashland students enrollment. Had that violation been a top tier school, very little punishment would have been given.

 

Having kids enroll in Fairview from other areas was not cheating. How many times can this be said, before some get it? Most every state championship level program has transfers on the team. Fairview was on its way to that level prior to the recent events.

 

Saying you would like Fairview to become part of Boyd county school illustrates your true love for Fairview. I side with Eagle & Spin Doc2, I would guess the Raceland fans on here adore you.

First of all ...just where did I say that I had a son on the football team or even had a son in the school system ? I'll save you time and tell you that I did not and you should know what you're saying before you claim it.. News flash, there are females that attend FHS, LOL. Next, about the rent free housing, I believe you are so very wrong again. B. Musik basically admitted that to the khsaa people in that was where those kids were living. I don't go on what anyone else post, I just know that was happening, no rumors. As I said, I have been around this place for years and don't you think that there are a few left in the FHS system that don't really care about football and those people know, heard what was going on. Regardless if some things were supposed to be "hush-hush" some people talk that probably shouldn't have, were told not to. Next point - Just bc some things are "technically" not cheating doesn't mean it's not. i am sure that there were some details tat were "conviently not found" That's all I will say about that.

Finally Sir , what the hell does Raceland or their fans have to do with it. Are you wrapped up with Raceland or something ? I don't follow Raceland, am certainly not Rams fan and don't know any of them. So, No I am not "in" with them and if they admire me then I don't know why and am certainly am not aware of it.

I am just a resident that will tell the truth and don't really care about the "Westwood Good ol' Boys Club". Actually it's comments like yours and a couple of other Fairview people on here that get to me. Not taking responsibility, making excuse, etc..

Get over yourself mad eagle that's what's wrong with people in our area like to live in past Nd complain. I bet you were happy and cheering when fairview went undefeated 2 years and to state title game. I would like to see Nathan McPeek and Garry McPeek sue the school and bill musick because of the recent OEA report.

How could they sue the OEA? From what you stated earlier in the forum, the OEA has "zero to do with football". But that's none of my business.
