Braxton Beverly leaving Perry County Central

Featured Replies

Per Twitter, Braxton will play his senior year at Hargrave Prep. Crushing blow for PCC.

No mention of a reclassification. I guess he just wanted a step up in competition for his last year.

Obviously, this changes everything in the 14th Region. Major blow to PCC

Also changes the landscape of 2016 Mr. Basketball race. Many on here presumed Braxton to be the early favorite.

Quentin Goodin is the favorite. Braxton was right behind him. Eli Wright and Carson Williams get the bump now. Goodin is still the leader though.

Good luck to Braxton. I hate we won't have him here in KY but I get it. He is a lot of fun to watch. I wish him well and look forward to following his progress. Do your thing, Braxton!!!!

I believe that Beverly was the favorite. When you have a top player from the mountain as Beverly was they are almost guaranteed 90% of the votes from regions 13-16 to begin with.

Quentin has the upper hand on both Eli Wright and Carson Williams at this point because he made the state tournament and performed well in Lexington.

This was finally supposed to be Perry Central's year to win the region...now, I'm not so sure.

Things have definitely changed in the 14th Region now.

Top teams in the 14th now?

1. Cordia

2. ?

3. ?

Perry Central still has Whitemore, Blair and Tobler

Knott Central has some younger kids who can play

Who else is solid?

Hazard will be good they have several transfers and where going to be the favorite anyway from what I'm told. Since cordia isn't in competition for the region I'd say Buckhorn will be second then KCC

I think this totally eliminates PCC from the conversation. No one can handle the ball.

Whitmore was a senior.

Oh....well scratch him off and the situation is even worse for PCC.

I g uess that would make it:

1. Cordia (* not eligible for postseason play)

2. Hazard

3. Buckhorn

4. Knott Central

5. Perry Central

Thoughts?

Does this open up the possibility for transfers either going to PCC to fill that guard position or possibly leaving and following Beverly, only to other teams in the 14th?
