August 12, 201511 yr Author Impressed Zajac is up to 205 he should fun to watch. Brenan Kuntz is close to 220 pounds. Should be a great year for the Saints.
August 13, 201511 yr Gebhardt will be a senior with 3 years of starting Experience. He's the front runner, but I know the coaches are flat-out excited about Kuntz. He has an arm that you just dont' normally see at the D3 level. That being said, they can't just give him the QB job with what Gebhardt has experience-wise. That being said, look for Kuntz if Gebhardt continues to have slow starts against the playoff teams on the schedule. How ironic is that week 1 is one of those games? I guess the kid could win the job outright, BUT there'd be a possibility of losing a very veteran team. As far as the other kids from SK listed - unless they are really special and don't need a year to mature and adjust to the college game, its going to be very hard to get on the field. Its a very deep and veteran team. There's a reason they lost a first team AA RB (and TD machine) and are still ranked in the Top 25. Also of note: I knew this was coming but it looks like Thomas More has made their first forays into the world of recruiting in Florida. Glad to see there was room in the budget for this crucial part of building a D3 Program in this modern era. Well said JU...TMC will be loaded for bear this season. A lot of folks believe highly touted hs athletes can walk into a D3 school and win a spot year 1. What they are unaware of is many D1 athletes have "matriculated" to the D3 ranks for a number of reasons over the years ( immediate spot for 3-4 years, small class size, education, family environment, smaller towns and less distractions ). There is a hierarchy at any level. Good kids that work hard, are talented, and meet or exceed expectations of the coaching staff keep their spot. It takes a special young athlete to walk in as a freshmen and take/earn a spot. Go Saints! :thumb:

I'd love to see him head up north to Oberlin!!! He'd only be the 3rd player from Ky on the roster made up of players from 30 states. He'd be a great addition! Come on up Josh!

August 17, 201511 yr Heard Deaton hung up the pads today! Any truth to this? No idea, but if the rumors of him quitting every year at SK are true it wouldn't surprise me. Young men have to realize that when you go to the next level you are a small fish in a big pond, just a number until you establish yourself. Hope there is no truth to this rumor, but would not be surprised.

August 18, 201511 yr My heart sank when I heard this. It's tough anytime a team loses a member but tougher when the season is about to start. Please coaches, remind your players to be careful while out driving. Last season I saw some high school team members driving erratically after a practice. I understand their excitement & enthusiasm but every year there is a sad story about a young player losing their life way too early.
