If they were faithful in their thoughts and beliefs about being prosperous in the here and now , they would be. Even good people can get consumed by thoughts of debt and financial misery instead of thinking and believing prosperity. Your thoughts are the key to success....or depress. God has nothing to do with it. This is absolutely puzzling. In one thread you sound like a progressive, praising Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. In this one, you're right on the edge of sounding like Mitt Romney. People's mindsets are what's keeping them poor? There's NO WAY you believe that based on your posting history, so what's going on here?

There's NO WAY you believe that based on your posting history, so what's going on here? I do believe the human mind is so very powerful. I think one can be politically progressive and still believe in the power of the mind to put us in a better place in life or, in the case of many people, a much darker place. I saw a colleague of mind allow his thoughts to make his body physically sick. I have also seen the opposite, positive thoughts bringing about positive results. I am more than willing to help out my fellow man when needed and I am okay with the government providing some help, but ultimately it is one's focused thoughts and subsequent actions that will manifest good and bad outcomes.

To clarify a little further, I was just thinking about this because in the church I attended as a youth there was a lady who occasionally got up at the pulpit and spoke, and I can remember some of the older folk grumbling about it but never made a major issue about it. But they always said the Bible spoke against women speaking in church, that they had to be silent.

The Southern Baptist Church that I went to throughout my youth had this view on keeping women silent. Absurd. Then when I went to a Nazarene Church as a young adult, they allowed women to preach. In fact, I really enjoyed the woman that would always come and preach revivals there. Says a lot that even denominations within Christianity can't agree on things like that. Everyone interprets scripture to suit their own purpose. I never had the slightest problem with a woman being in the pulpit.
