When was the last year that Highlands didn't have the best O-line in NKY?

 

I expect Highlands' o-line to be about as good as it was last year. I don't know how that stacks up against the other teams in NKY. It sounds like there are a lot of quality linemen coming back across NKY. I bet Highlands will come up with a five man unit that will be able to compete. Replacing Gall and Bunning will be a chore. It will be interesting to see who steps up.

Possibly last year when Dixie's o-line was very strong.

Yea but they had a horrible time rushing the ball against those 3 teams.

 

Those 3 games obviously did not define that O-line. No excuses but the CC game turned into a passing game because that's what the game dictated, the SK game Cooper had 11 starters/significant contributors out including 2 starting linemen, and the Dixie game meant absolutely nothing in terms of seeding or anything and the goal was to come out healthy which is why the JV played the entire 2nd half. Again, those teams were all better and those were tough losses but I would venture to say that every team Cooper faced last year they were outsized to a man but STILL found a way to open holes for arguably the one of the best backs in NKY and amass nearly 1700 yards I believe. As FOM33 stated, nearly that entire line returns as well as that same back so it's not unbelievable to think that they will be more that solid.

Yep, not that they really left anyway averaging 3-4 6A teams on the schedule for about the past 4 years.

Some names to possibly consider: Michael Davidson, Kyle Finfrock, Michael Dunn, Mitchell Schry, Trey King, and Nathan Raleigh. I won't speculate on heights and weights, but definitely some capable players... Should be a fun year for Coach Turner and HHS RBs.

These are the big guys who will compete to make up the Ryle OL this year. Besides Chase Logan who started last year, these are only the incoming seniors. There may be a few upcoming Juniors who will earn a spot. No offense to them, I just didn't want to list everyboby on the roster assuming the Juniors have to beat the Seniors out to get the spot. We will be leaner and more athletic than in the past. These are weights and heights from preseason last year. I'm sure the hard work has added some weight, and some of the kids have grown in a year.

They're always good but I can't really pick a year when I would say they were the best because unfortunately the O-line is the most under publicized unit on the field for every team. I really have nothing to compare them to and as long as the offense is scoring 50 a game I don't really care if they are the best because they're obviously good enough.

I'm sure there have been several years. Last year at the beginning, they very much were not because of the uncertainties and newbies. They ended the year as one of the best but how can anyone say one team had the best line. Way too many variables imo. HHS's line this year will be a strength imo. Will definitely helped the new QB settle into his position.
