March 17, 201511 yr I have played in a keeper league for 14 years. We do our keepers different. We don't keep anyone that would have been a 3rd round or higher pick. That way it keeps your draft more competitive early and also gives new teams a fairer chance. Now what's nice. Last year I got Justin Forsett as a free agent. With our draft being 14 rounds if I keep him it cost me my 11th round pick. Emmanuel Sander was a 7th round pick. To keep him would cost me my 4th round pick and it would be the last year I could keep him. Still rewards and keeps things a little more evenly distributed. Just a thought...

March 19, 201511 yr You have to change the way you do keepers. When I drafted last year, there were like 21 players gone and mostly RB's. I had to draft a RB and the best one was Monte Ball who got hurt within two weeks. I won one game all season. If you want to keep it the same, then you are saying we want the same five teams to win every year and who cares about the rest of the teams. We like to have a chance to win also. For one team to have like McCoy and Lynch before I get to pick is just not fair. I try my best every week but it sure gets old when you pick your lineup and knowing you have no chance!
March 19, 201511 yr ^Sounds like the guy who drafted McCoy and Lynch was smart enough to make them both keepers. If people want better options at keeper, they need to draft better players, simple as that. Me, I have 4 viable options for keepers. Tough problem to have. :idunno:
March 19, 201511 yr I'm good either way. I can see the issue that people have with keepers and then I can see the other side as well. Like Sumo is saying if we had no keepers and he still had the last pick in each round then he'd, at worst, get the 16th best RB in the draft assuming everyone ahead of him took a RB. With keepers it can be difficult to get a lot better because of how thin the RB draft is and people are going to keep the best RB's.
March 19, 201511 yr I think scoring needs to be tweaked against making RB so heavily favored against other positions. Especially in as deep a league we are and with how the NFL has even shifted away from the RB. 16 team league 2 RB's each...There aren't 32 worthy starting RB's in the NFL.

I completely disagree with sumroyal. That's what makes this league so challenging and one of the reasons I really enjoy it. You have to build your team over a couple of years, take chances on younger guys, and really play the free agent market well. Keepers were Drew Brees, AJ Green, and then picked Julius Thomas because the RBs sucked. Top three RBs that I drafted were Reggie Bush, Fred Jackson, and Jonathan Stewart. So yeah, not fun with those guys. Played the waiver wire well and grabbed CJ Anderson a week or two before he was a hot commodity and the guy helped carry me to the *. Don't change it @Godot!
