Chris Curley- .667 avg, 28 RBI, 28 Runs scored. All 3 lead NKY. I cant find his HR, but I would guess he has at least 13 or so.

There are some folks (and I'm guilty of this) who always look at Beechwood stats with a cynical eye. Maybe we're wrong. Maybe we're right. I don't need stats to know that Curley can flat out hit and , as I said previously, is a legit candidate for POY.

 

With that said, how many of his HRs have come against the following:

 

Heritage, Dayton, Bellevue, Villa, Calvary, and Ludlow?

I considered that too....until I saw him go down and jack a pitch that should have never been hit tonight. J C could not have made a better pitch, down and in and Chris just musceled it. And I think his HR count is at 10 now.

I was thinking the same thing. Curley has an absolute cannon on the mound, but his hitting stats may be smudged, as Romes's in basketball. Both are phenominal players and would definitely play on my teams, just a thing to consider.

Curley is the best player in the ninth and probably one of the best five players in the state. He's that good!

It'll be interesting to see if he gets drafted or goes to college. I really think he will be drafted though.

Another interesting point is that his grandfather played as high as AA I think, in the Cleveland Indians organization. Must be in the blood!

I'm not sure what order I put them in but as of 5/2/06:

 

Curley, Blazejewski, and Farris are the top 3.

 

I think Farris may get my vote. I think he's hitting about .500 and is leading NKY in stolen bases and may lead in HRs.

 

Curley is my overall POY as of now.

 

Farris has great numbers, plays a great catcher (good position to be drafted in or get one of those hard to get full-ride baseball scholarships as well). He's the five-tool player Jim Bowden liked so much to talk about. Only knock on him is he's a sophomore. Not really a knock, I know. But how much will this affect POY voting?

 

Blazejewski just hits, and hits. Solid glove, solid arm. He's a very good player.

Have seen all three of the above mentioned and love them all, and clearly Curley is the POY. The only other player that I have seen that I like as a fourth (he isn't as good as the three everybody has mentioned) but I also like the second baseman for Simon Kenton. Don't know his name, but he impressed me with his glove and bat during the Doc Morris tourney.....

He accually will be signing with Campbellsville next week.

When the Tigers played Villa, Dayton, Calvary, Silver Grove and Bellevue Chris played a maximum of two innings and sometimes did not play at all. When the games played against these schools are taken out of the mix his average is .643, 10 HR, 37 RBI all which still lead Northern Kentucky.

I'm pretty sure the second baseman for Simon is Rick Parrott. He's a junior, and I believe he's a three year starter.
