What schools in Kentucky have the best bands?

The reason that I ask this question is because high school bands come to Honolulu in April to march down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki. Last nite there was a band from Pensacola, Florida. Bands from Michigan, Iowa and midwestern states have come. Most come from California. It is a great vacation for the band and the families. Some of these bands have 150 members. Are there any high school bands in Kentucky that have done the major parades? I do not think that my alma mater, Trinity, has a band so at least we need not discuss putting Trinity in a different class.

Paul Laurence Dunbar has an excellent band. State Champions in their class.

Lafayette and GRC used to have the best bands in the state. Don't know if that still holds true.

I was joking. I have never been to big on the whole marching band thing hence my comment and the smiley, didn't mean to get your hopes up.

Lawrence County use to, I dont know about here recently.

Paul Laurence Dunbar has an excellent band. State Champions in their class.

He used to be the band director at GRC. We usually now come in second to them in competitions, and Lafayette is right up there too. All three have excellent bands:thumb:

Gotta give them there props, man. I remember seeing them out in the heat when I played ball... they'd be out there longer than us!

The Glasgow Scotties bagpipe band, when fully arrayed, is unrivaled. They routinely send students with full scholarships to Wooster, an Ohio college with excellent bagpipers.
