Yo Mama Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 You are probably right but I hate to see so many Senior Nights get cancelled. Any ideas of how to honor your seniors with no final home game?

allsport71 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 With so many senior nights canceled,I agree, would be nice to do something. Maybe before each first round district game, we could ask the pa announcers to just introduce the seniors on each team, just before the starting line ups. I know as a Holmes guy,I sure hate that it looks like no senior night, just a thought.

Seems to me that most coaches around the state would not be too keen on the idea of his/her seniors coming into an elimination game scenario distracted by the sentimentality of Senior Night.
paNDA Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 School assemblies or some other type of celebration would do.
AGullett08 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 School assemblies or some other type of celebration would do. School assemblies? That would not even compare to having a senior night. Senior night is the one night a student athlete looks forward to. It's your last time playing on your home court/field, it has a lot of emotion behind it. To not even have one would suck, bc it's one thing kids look forward to senior season.
PP1 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I actually think it matter more to the parents then the kids. I think schools go way overboard these days with senior nights.

It can go either way, there are some parents that care more than the kids do, but to a lot of kids it matters. But at this point it is what it is.

Tommy2tone Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I am sure most schools will find a game sat night. Kids deserve sr. night.
polarbear98 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Agreed we are supposed to play Robertson Co both boys and girls for their sr. nights, so possibily a boy/girl double header could happen

I'm sure our school is one that you would consider going overboard but I feel we do it right. Dim the lights, spotlight, slide show of seniors when they were little kids, flowers for mom etc... It seems to be a big deal for all and a nice way to honor all seniors who have given so much time and effort to the sport not just the ones who score the most points etc.. Also honor the senior cheerleaders. I know we can't control the weather but hope that all seniors get some sort of recognition.
paNDA Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 I have photographed many a senior night and I agree it is a nice way to say goodbye to so many well deserving kids but when weather kicks you in the teeth then something has to give. NDA moved theirs to the second last game just to avoid this. They look like genius' now.

Well, they should forward their complaints to Mother Nature and see where that gets them.
