February 13, 201511 yr IMO, i stated this on my twitter (@Logand55) on a facebook group, if the Reds aren't doing hot, he is the first to go. We can deal him for a bat, we can deal him for anything. Meso & Frazier are going to stay, Cueto goes after the season is over I think.

The presence of him in the bullpen is enough to for opposing managers to change the way the manage games. Plus he can be used in stopper situations to halt off the bad inning. Your going to get more from $12M a year Chapman, than you are $20M a year Votto, every time.
February 13, 201511 yr He will be a terrific pawn at the deadline. Good move. I guess I just don't understand the move. They basically gave him what he was asking for arbitration. I wouldn't have settled for anything less than a multi-year deal if I were the Reds. If it's going to be just the one year, why not just let it play out?

February 13, 201511 yr Not true at all. No relief pitcher is worth that much money unless you're contending for titles. He'll be lucky to appear in more than 50 games, and in most 1 inning max. Over 50 games every full year...54, 68, 68, 54...both 54 years he was out for at least a month with injuries. He has a chance to impact around 80% of the teams wins in a given season.
