Newport Central Catholic's Kristen Schreiber commits

Featured Replies

After having recently made visits to Thomas More & the University of Indianapolis, as well as having interest from NKU, Bellermine, Missouri Valley, & Kentucky Wesleyan, the NewCath Sr. catcher has verbally committed to Mt. St. Joe.

Kristen will start her 4th season behind the plate and possess arguably the strongest arm in NKY, with pop times between 1.75 & 1,82, she has thrown out over 50% of would be base-stealers in her career. At the plate last season she hit .395, 34H, 32R, 20RBI, 17 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR with a .651 SLG%. She currently ranks 1st in career 2B, 3B, HR and is 2nd in RBI & SLG%. No one works harder then this young lady and it's been truly a joy to watch and coach her the since she was an 8th grader. BTW, she not a bad SS either.

Not only is Kristen a stellar player, but she also excels in the classroom. She is Vice-President of the National Honor Society and she has maintained a 4.74 GPA while taking all AP & Honors classes. She currently ranks 7th in her class and scored a 28 on her ACT.

Congrats Kristen :dancingpa
