Featured Replies

Im sure Kasey will have a monster season, but if Juan Thomas and Arliss Beach cant bring Mr. Football to EKY neither can Kasey.

I thought Juan did win Mr. Football! Anyway LET' s Hope for a monster year from Kasey and good health for all the kids so that maybe they can get some recognition and get their college paid for!:D I know you want him to have a monster game in Putnam this season!!!;)

No, not really.... :D

He won Baseball

The fact is that Kasey Clark will have a monster season if he stays healthy. He could lead in vertually every catagory for a running back and receiver. The bottom line is he will not get the votes required because of geographic location. He would probable have a better shot at getting on the next space shuttle. It's a shame but it is reality.

Will the fact that he plans on playing football with the Fighting Illini have any impact on his votes?? I just wonder if Kentucky wants to keep their Mr. Football in Kentucky...Either way, I've seen him play, and he's a natural runner...I look for him to have a great season...will it be enough?

Doug Beaumont is the best player in the state. No one in the state does more for their team than Beau does for the Bulldogs. Vic Anderson a close second.

Where is this coming from?

I've been on several Fighting Illini websites and see no mention of Clark being recruited by them.

BTW.....In my opinion, he is a really good RB, but an even better DB.

I will be surprised if Clark even signs D1. Everyone thought Gross was D1, but he was not. I don't see too many 200lb white tailbacks in D1. Not being racist, it's just a fact.

Cory Gilbert has it locked up. Go ahead and present the trophy.

Notre Dame, USC, Texas, OHio State, Michigan, Oklahoma are all after this kid.

Illinois is recruiting and has extended campus invitations! They have done all this legally through mailouts, text messages to his cell phone, and emails! They will officially talk when the schedule for verbal speaking to players is allowed! His college future he has several D-1's very interested. Kent State, Akron have both been to Russell!

Oh come on you can at least want him to put on a show! Putnam Stadium could use some "High Lights" :jump: :D

What school and what position? If this kid is truly being pursued by the schools you listed then he would be one of the top recruits in the country. For USC to bother with a recruit this far East he would have to be something special. I looked on both Scouts and Rivals and could not find him on either site.

From what I have found through research, you may want to call and tell them they are recruiting Clark.

I'm not saying they aren't, but I am stating that I haven't seen it in writing anywhere.

I think folks have a LOT of different opinions on what "being recruiting" means.

Schools request miles of film, send tons of forms, literature, etc. to kids, and "talk" a LOT to everyone, sometimes even saying they would like to have that person play for their team..........

None of that means that an offer will ever be extended !

I don't mean to throw cold water on anyones hopes and certainly don't intend to put down any players ability or performance, but I've seen so many kids and parents get disillusioned by this process. You can call it either being lied to, mislead, misreading the signs, or being overly optimistic.

I just hope more players and families are informed and educated on the process so everyone has a more realistic view of whats happening - that way they are better able to pursue a viable option for the student-(hopefully)athlete :thumb:

Perhaps those who have been recruited or involved in the process could start a thread to provide info to newbies?:thumb:
