As was mentioned, King did a very good job of containing Fuller, and they also prevented Walker from getting on track offensively, so it was big for the Indians to see Hodgson really carry the offense with several big buckets.

This one sure seems like the thriller GRC/MoCo games often end up being. Nice win for the Indians.

 

I think Matt Daniel has to be in conversation for Coach of the Year in the 10th, especially given that no one except maybe Brossart lost as much as Montgomery did from last year.

 

I think he is most certainly in the conversation, but would have to give the edge to Jason Hinson at Augusta for not missing a beat and then some without Brett Bach. To do a first and knock off the mighty Brossart and go to All A State, as well as give Mason County one of their toughest tests to date(before losing) earlier in the year

Sorry I missed putting Hodgson in the stats. I have him for 19 points. Yes he had a huge night. Stepped up when MoCo need him to.

The Indians led by nine with 5:35 remaining, but Clark crawled back into the contest and took the lead at 52-50 on a 3-pointer by Jyles Anderson with 1:20 remaining.

 

Montgomery County quickly regained the lead on a follow up trey by Sam Hodgsen. The Indians made 4 of 8 free throws down the stretch and remained in the lead until Clark's Damion King popped a 3-pointer to tie the score at 57-57 with 8.3 seconds remaining.

 

Clark then stole the inbounds pass, and a shot by Anderson on the baseline stuck to the rim, giving the ball back to the Indians on the alternating possession with 1.1 seconds remaining, giving Hodgsen enough time to unleash a heave to the other end of the court. The pass split two Clark defenders and landed in the hands of Chism, who banked in a shot inside the arc as time expired, leaving the Cardinals speechless as the fans stormed the court.

 

 

Despite a scoreless first quarter, King led Clark with 15 points, followed by Braxton Greene with 13. Anderson rounded out three players in double figures with 11.

 

Clark made eight 3-pointers in the contest, including four in the final eight minutes.
