The Stupid Things Women Do For Beauty

^^^This, is a no-win quandry....if you are asked by (insert girlfriend, wife, etc...here) what you think of their attire, do not tell the truth, under any circumstances. You will not win. Here's why: If you say you like it, then the questions will continue and odds are that you are going to have one you don't like sooner or later...then you have to lie to keep from having a bad day.

If you are honest, and say you don't like, well obviously your significant other thought it was a good outfit when they put it on, so you are still one down.

Do what I do and plead the Fifth. I believe it is every man's right to refuse to answer, because you will absolutely self incriminate on this obvious trap.

Pleading the 5th is essentially a negative. You should know that if you're married.

Snake venom, botox, etc...I'm not doing it..none of it.

Heels-I used to love them, and wore them often, and always to work. But I have bad, bad knees and eventually the pain and problems forced me to completely relinquish all my heels to Goodwill. It's sad really. But I don't want to go through foot, hip, knee and back problems just to look good.

Spin, I can't answer for all women. But I just try to be presentable for the sake of civility. But, in the interest of full disclosure, there's only so nice you can dress up a hag. I do the best with what I've got, knowing that it's still woefully beneath the standard. :lol2: :D

And I can't speak for all men, but I like my 40something wife looking like a 40something wife. Just sayin.

I'm not a wife. Maybe I'd have a different reason if I were. But I just try to look like I care. I think that's it, in the end. One should care about one's appearance, not necessarily for any ONE, but for the sake of self respect.

Now THAT makes sense to me.

Again...don't take what I say to be the answer for all women. :lol2: But, it's my reason I try, and it's how I raised my kids (girl AND boy).

She is just looking for an honest assessment so she doesn't look like an idiot in public. Like Doc said, he wants his 40something wife to look 40something. Sometimes people need someone to tell them, hell no you can't wear that! I tell my husband all the time when something looks off. I'm sure she would appreciate your honesty.

I dress for the occasion. I dress in my no nonsense, I know what I am talking about, don't mess with me clothes when I need to project that. My normal wear is sweats, jeans, and athletic shoes. Make up is minimum except when I need more. I guess you could call it my shield for battle.

I'm traveling on I75 south at 29 mm. This just happened at a Loves station. I am in nice sweats, with scarf and makeup and hair done. In walks a 17 to 21 y o girl in Elmo Pajama bottoms, shirt that show top of her boobs, sweat jacket unzipped, bedroom sandals and stringy hair. Who has the better outlook on herself? Who has the most opportunity ahead?. Who has the most room for improvement?

Most dudes can't match a shirt and tie with shoes and a belt....you honestly want their opinion on if you look like an idiot ?!? I tell Mrs. BirdBrain when I think she shouldn't be wearing something, but it's with trepidation....have to sleep at some time

Yes, it's a very delicate situation when a husband comments on his wife's attire or general appearance. You better know what you're doing. Short of calling her attention to some rogue toilet paper on her person, I usually just keep quiet.
