Our over all best defensive game of the year from all players. Thought Sharrock came off the bench and played his best game and didn't score a point.

 

King had 21 at the half and 30 for the game. Green had 16 second half and 23 for the game. Can't say enough about Damion King. It wasn't just his scoring but his defense, assists, getting the other players involved, he is just the complete player.

Think we are rated the 6th best defensive team in the state.

16th is really weak this season. I still think Rowan wins it

Rowan has a chance, but then again watch out for Boyd County

This is Rowan County's (15-5) biggest loss of the season.

 

Loss to Bryan Station (14-4) by 11.

Loss to Dunbar (7-12) by 5.

Loss to Boyd County (15-3) by 3.

Loss to Lincoln County (16-2) by 14.

This is a good win for GRC. :thumb:

Damion King had a career outing and the George Rogers Clark High School basketball team notched a quality win.

 

 

“It was a quality win and Damion had a special night,” Clark coach Scott Humphrey said. “I thought we did a lot of positive things and had a lot of positive contributions. Everybody that played contributed and I felt like we got every loose ball and seems like when there was a 50-50 ball, we came up with every one of them.”

 

 

Braxton Greene, also a senior, followed King with 23 points and scored 16 of those in the second half.

 

 

Humphrey liked the way his team played on both ends of the court.

 

“It was a good sign,” he said. “Even though we won on Tuesday, I felt on the defensive end, we were as poor as we’ve been all year. We spent Wednesday in practice working on defense and rebounding and I thought our guys were extremely active. We had a lot of deflections and kept a lot of rebounds alive to give ourselves a chance. We battled every single time.”

 

 

 

Game added: The Cardinals will play at Scott County on Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Georgetown. The varsity game will tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
